Ylvis host a talk show, it was just meant to be a funny ad for that.
Their other videos are less crazy and funnier IMO.

DumboRoomie showed this to me
we both died
bye...Have you heard of 99 Luftballoons? It was the catchy foreign pop song in English-speaking countries that made it big when Psy would have been maybe 10 years old.
Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down.I remember
Yatta!
Denghis Khan (Moskau was in particular popular)
Tunuk Tunuk Tun
Funny dancing foreigners has ALWAYS been a Internet fad. It's just Internet fads have more of an impact now than they did in the pre-youtube era.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceAnd it's really not very crazy by 80s pop standards, or at all.
It's also different in that it's actually good.

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I've heard the phenomenon described as, "99 Luftballoons arrived in America and everyone spent the summer dancing to it and demanding an English version, then all the dancing ground to a screeching halt when they got an English version and realized it was a song about nuclear holocaust."
Fresh-eyed movie blogI really need to stop assuming I know anything about anything
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Watched the music video.
Can't get it out of my head. The guys at Motorcity seem to be offended though.
boop I'm more active on hereI think it's an example of Springtime for Hitler, in that Ylvis had intended it as a throwaway joke to promote the new season of their talk show and it ended up becoming a massive hit.
Am I the only person who doesn't like this song at all and is sick and tired of people in the school hallways ALWAYS reciting the chorus of it?!?! I'm not trying to be a Fan Hater in any way, but it's getting really annoying!

Well, I can't say I relate since I've been out of high school for several years now.
I don't think you know what Springtime for Hitler means.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. The fact foxes didn't have any particular sound a associated with them did actually bother me for a llong while...
hashtagsarestupidWell, the sound foxes make are like, blood curdling banshee screams.
I'm having to learn to pay the price
It's being called the next Gangnam Style (or the third, if you count Harlem Shake).
