Mighty No. 9 - Spiritual Sucessor to Mega Man by Keiji Inafune himself

You know, for not needing to be humanoid, so far they have been fairly so.:/

I've been noting that the Mighty Numbers in general have looked rather humanoid in general as well. Comparing them to the Robot Masters, I'd even lean towards saying that there are quite a few Robot Masters that look less humanoid (like Napalm Man, Heat Man, and Astro Man) than the revealed Mighty Numbers so far.

Also, glad to see that females are represented amongst the Mighty Numbers. We won't have to wait until Mighty Number 67 for gender equality (well, inasmuch as gender matters for robots, anyhow).

What is it with the number 9?

Based on a totally legitimate pattern with two data points - Cyborg 009 and Mighty No. 9.

Oooh, numerology! There's a reason I launched Numerological Motif years ago.

Nine is the number of power. A trio of Power Trios. The pinnacle of the single digits. The source of life, with the average pregnancy lasting nine months. Nine is the last step before we bring it back to one (ten being the combination of one and nothing in numerological sense).

Nice that at least one of the enemy Might Nos. is female. I like the demon motif she has.

Not a demon. Thunder god.

But she has horns and red eyes. I'm pretty sure she's meant to be evil looking.

Her design is based off of Raijin, the Thunder God, IIRC. Though she also has somewhat of an oni motif going for her.

I like the design, and so far none of the Mighty Numbers have been particularly groan-worthy to me (yet). I also hope we get more than one female Mighty Number out of this group...

For some reason, No. 3 reminds me of a dark and twisted version of Sari.

I can see that. Reminds me of her too. The two actually kinda look REALLY similar.

I can kind of see that, though the hair specifically reminds me a bit of Haman Karn (only purple instead of pink/fuchsia).

Less than $5000 away from PS 3/360 versions. When I get paid I think I'm going to put a donation in.

I don't care much for PS 4 / XB 1 versions, but it would be awesome if they could make it all the way to online co-op.

With this kind of art style, a female humanoid robot without secondary feminine traits would just be an underage female humanoid .

You could easily say there can't be a male robot without any human traits added to it.

I like the design. Looks pretty neat, and doesn't look too cutesy or overly feminine, but you can still tell it's feminine.

I went to donate to this thing, but it turned out that Kickstarter wants backers to sign up to Amazon in order to pay.

Fuck that shit.

I'm not wasting my time dumping my credit card details into yet another internet site; Paypal would have worked just fine, if only Kickstater had let it.

I think Kickstarter had a few bad incidents with Paypal (such as people wanting their money back, which created a lot of trouble for Paypal and Kickstarter), so they're not letting you use that anymore.

Whoa, they just passed the 2.2m mark for PS 3/X360/Wii U versions.

Robots have genders now? It's not a female robot with female human traits added, it's a robot with female human traits. Just like all the other robots with male human traits.

I guess what I mean is more in the lines of having a robot who is classified as a woman without having feminime traits about her. Like, take Robot Masters like Napalm Man, Air Man ect. or some other stuff like PlanetMan.EXE. They will probably always be male. The reason why I brought up Polar Kamrous is because she's a woman without showing that fact.

Eh, most people assume male unless it's obvious and so far most of the Mighty Nos. have had ambiguous or clearly masculine designs. Unless there's voice acting or dialogue I don't think it would be easy to tell whether or not a robot was female without making it obvious.

Does this mean that folks will join me in cheering for a stretch goal that adds new content to the game? Anyone?

You know, I suppose there's nothing stopping them from saying that Mighty No. 5 is actually female. That one has a Cephalothorax build - maybe 5 is a girl. Also, it'd give us a chance to quote Bender, regarding Crushinator - "A girl that fine, you gotta romance."
