So I decided to watch UG on Netflix.
It's silly.
It is very, very silly.
However, it is a kind of silly that I can get behind.
In fact, I ended up finishing the whole first season after starting it only a few days ago on Netflix.
And I've resorted to using Perfectly Legal Means to start watching season 2.
So...GOOD MORNING!
Have watched it. It's not a good show, but not downright terrible either. It can be quite entertaining and has some truly funny bits. Plus, I do like its surrealist elements. And my fave character is Mr. Gus. You can easily tell why
Has anyone watched the new episode last week? Guest animators doing the shorts and bumpers?
I just watched eps 3 and 4.
Like every time I watch this show, I'm like, What the FUCK did I just watch?
Beary Nice and Hot Dog Person made a very nice allegory for trying new experiences.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I can never decide if the Beary Nice and Hot Dog Person shorts are too sadistic to be funny, or if they're just sadistic enough.
They're funny because they come in small doses.
That applies to all of Uncle Grandpa. Watching more than one episode at a time will give you overdose.
Still... GOOD MORNING!
Might as well reuse this thread...◊
So how many of you are looking forward to the "Uncle Grandpa Babies" special?
Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakWatched it. It's a pretty awesome moment where Spinoff Babies are better than expected from the audience.
"We be we baby!"That's kinda accurate, actually.
Currently writing something. Currently procrastinating. They started releasing the shorts for all of CN's shows in HD on their offical youtube channel (so no use for those outside of america). Here's a post (that will be updated) with the links

my blogI think more than a few old shows actually have Nostalgia Filter going for them. Not to say all.
So, what's this talk in the Teen Titans Go! thread about this show being cancelled?
Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakIIRC, Cartoon Network ordered enough episodes for a fourth and fifth season, but they're ending the show after that and to make things even more backstabbing, they've already fired the UG crew.
Kind of a bummer, all things considered.
Heck, apparently even UG creator Pete Browngardt reblogged (or reposted?) a fan art of UG in tears and about to Ate His Gun on his Facebook.
Two interesting things about today's new episode:
1. The infamous writer from Sponge Bob's post movie seasons, Zeus Cervas, co-wrote and boarded this episode. He already did an episode that aired last August, Watermelon Gag, by himself. I did not liked that episode since it was mean-spirited. Here, he and the co-writer (it's not Casey Alexander, but his partner was Brett Varon, known for other Cartoon Network shows like Billy and Mandy, Chowder, Clarence) made the episode dumb and confusing.
2. Last but not least, the episode ended with a Grammys parody, the Grampies. Some of the CN characters were attending like Finn and Jake, Clarence and his friends, Steven and the Crystal Gems. This was the best part due to the crossover appearance, but it's because it was treated like an award show: Uncle Grandpa rigged the award and keep winning.
So that did actually happen? Going by the reaction by the folks on the CN general thread, I thought the leaked screenshot of all the CN character was faked and it didn't actually happen.
(On the other hand, they probably didn't make it to the end of the episode then, since the episode was a Pizza Steve episode and they couldn't sit through it.)

"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."Nope, it happened. Here's the clip.
This was surprisingly painful to watch. And watching it just made me want this conversation to happen:
Gumball: Dunno. But the joke's on him. I just got a text from my agent saying the only show that isn't getting picked up for another season is his and not any of ours, so pffffffft (raspberry)!
(back at the stage)
UG: I have the greatest show ever!
(Mr. Gus walks up on stage.)
Mr. Gus: Um, Uncle Grandpa, I just got off the phone with our agent. She's says we're the ones not getting picked up for another season.
(UG and Pizza Steve make Oh, Crap! faces.)
(Smash Cut to black.)
note
Keep in mind that this was probably written before Uncle Grandpa got Screwed by the Network, so they had no idea this was probably going to happen. (I feel sorry for Peter Browngardt and his crew, because they wrote this scene without knowing what was coming.)
You gotta hand it to them for at least getting all these characters into this episode. To me, it does seem like you're supposed to be sympathizing with all the other CN folks. (Kinda funny how even Clarence was disgusted with the results of the Grammpies.) Can't wait to see how the Steven Universe fandom reacts to this...
"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."So, Aunt Grandma was back and thoughts on the new episode? Thought it was great
Eh, wrestling without "Chicken Man' and "The Best?" Dissapointed.
Yep, I'm still here. One year bump, but today, the show just ended. What did everyone thinks of Uncle Grandpa? I thought the show was very underrated probably due to the title, and maybe Pizza Steve being an asshole most of the time. But I had some fun watching the show, from day 1 to today. I'll miss it and I can't wait to see what Pete Browngardt will be doing next (Fun fact: He guest starred on an episode of Sponge Bob and Clarence)
It seems like Cartoon Network canceled the show because Miller wants to make her mark, which is pretty bad. I mean the show could have gone on for more seasons, with the improvement that the show has seemingly gone through.
"You can run, but you can't hide from the Buzzinator!"I think the show just had a bizarre premise that was hard to sell, and that's why it failed. Literally everyone I know in real life who knew about the show refused to watch it because of how stupid the premise looked. *
And that's a dog-gone shame, because I think Uncle Grandpa was a very clever, screwy, and funny show from the episodes I've seen, and the characters were (mostly) likeable. It's too bad it went out the way it did.
"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."
It was humor. I made up that everyone universally agreed it was a terrible term in order to emphasize that it should have been. Why are tropers so infuriatingly literal?
"Overrated" means absolutely nothing other than "I don't like this as much as other people, and I can't understand why they like it, so there must be something wrong with everybody but me."
The instant someone uses the term they look like a bit of a jerk. It's rude and dismissive of other people's interests. You can't expect to love everything popular. It doesn't make anything "overrated," it just means you have personally different taste than a larger number of people.
Meanwhile, you might love something wildly popular that a few other people don't.
