Latest confirmation is Walkure Romanze

Right now, I'm interested in:

Diamond no Ace Golden Time Infinite Stratos 2 Walkure Romanze Yowamushi Pedal.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Freezing Vibration and Strike The Blood ended up being Fall either.

I don't watch ongoing shows. With that said, out of the ones listed on that page, Golden Time, Infinite Stratos season 2, Log Horizon, Magi season 2, I Wanna Be the Strongest in the World, Unbreakable Machine-Doll, Kakumeiki Valvrave season 2 and Walkure Romanze have my interest. Note that for each of the sequels, I haven't seen the first season yet.

Definitely watching the Blazblue adaptation. Nothing else at the moment seems to appeal to me.

I'm not expecting the Blaz Blue anime to be any good at all, but I'll probably still end up watching it anyway.

Yeah, the Blaz Blue anime's probably going to turn out to be okay at best given that it's animated by Hoods Entertainment.^note They brought us the following lovely gems: Aki Sora, Manyuu Hikenchou, and Seikon No Qwaser. (not sure how good Mysterious Girlfriend X is)

Mysterious Girlfriend X's adaptation was solid. And that's what gives me hope here.

Aside from Blaz Blue, I'm only interested in Unbreakable Machine Doll and I Want to be the Strongest in the World!

All I'm interested in so far is Unbreakable Machine Doll. Meh. And maybe Walkure Romanze as well.

Oh well, hope Strike the Blood and Kanojo ga Flag o Oraretara get Fall 13 as well.

Do we have a consistent way to shorten the names? What's the technique?

Ore no Nōnai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Come o Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru sounds interesting. I'm just sad it doesn't sound like Yahari/SNAFU and probably won't as subversive.

It doesn't seem to be consistent at all. Haganai took the kana, OreImo was the first two kanji, and I don't know how we ended up with OreGairu

I wonder when people will start using initials instead of just shortenings for the longer titles...

Never. These shortenings come straight from Japan, which cannot use initials without suddenly switching to roman letters. Needless to say that they rarely opt for that, only doing so on the occasion that the title is already in English (such as Red Data Girl).

Also, initialisms would generally be longer than the portmanteaus

I lol'd at the long light novel titles complaints. At least it's not something like the ones here... And this reminds me of Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku o Ketsui Shimashita, which has got an anime adaptation green-lit in January.

Maybe it's just Japan's style, because it's not just light novels; a certain Summer 2013 manga also has a looong name. It's not that long, I'll give it that; still...

Gundam meets...I need to think of a Merchandise-Driven anime that fits.
