Have you introduced people to tv tropes?

so, have you ever introduced anyone to looking at TV Tropes? What was their reaction? Did they ever get hooked to this site?

Siblings, yes. Both got hooked, though one more so than the other.

Got my friend and her sister on the site, but neither really comes on anymore...

One because she just had a baby, and the other because she forgot her password...

I've told a few people about it, and they all checked the Wiki out and two of them reference it occasionally, but none of them have gotten hooked like I did.

I've mentioned it to people before, but I don't know if any of them actually cared enough to look it up.

Only one. It was the Pokemon Nightmare Fuel page that I showed her XD

Oh, and my mom likes to call tropers "tropey-peoples" whenever she asks me what's going on...

Unfortunately, yes.

Fortunately, they don't read the site much or touch the fprums.

My sister, but she's not really that interested in the site. Pretty much all my friends that know about it learnt independently of me telling them. None of them are on the forums though that I know about.

I've suggested that a friend look at the TV Tropes article for Uncanny Valley while discussing the subject.

Introduced my best friend to it - they're now completely addicted. It's a digitized version of Pringles, it's that addictive.

I've shown a few people, none were that interested. My brother basically hates it for the reasons a lot of other people do.

I've tried. But even though the person I tried to introduce would probably be a good fit here, he refuses to join. At first I thought he was just being lazy and/or stubborn for some reason, now I'm starting to think he's got something against the site. Until the "TV Tropes hate" thread, I had no idea this site had a bad reputation in some places.

Yes, and they even made accounts, although most of them left quickly after joining.

I actually have never introduced it to anybody. It just never comes up in conversation. And unfortunately all the people that I do know that heard of it independently are annoying hipsters.

Someone tried to introduce it to me a few months ago, but I already knew about it. Sorry, Chris!

My ex already knew about it before the two of us had met (though if she ever had an account, she never told me). That count?

I've introduced a couple of people to the world of tropes. One of my closer friends actually asked me if I knew about it one day; our conversations are now Troperiffic.

Confirmed. I've turned two (2) friends to the Dark Side.

My cousin when I accidentally used a trope in a conversation. This site has ruined my vocabulary and now he's hooked.

I mentioned Tv tropes to my sister, but I don't think she's aware of the forums.

I showed my cousin the Card-Carrying Villain page a day after school ended for me.

I have tried to introduce my fifteen year old sister to the site.

I've introduced someone to the word "Trope", and various Tropes as they come up, which is a start.

I showed a few. They weren't interested.
