Seconding the pull, that's not even remotely what the trope's about.
That looks like another trope entirely. Thirding the pull.

Is this any good?

I don't think the upper panel adds to it. And it's a shame the text is rather weak.
Check out my fanfiction!Weak as in the words don't add to it very well, or weak as in hard to see? The latter can be fixed quite easily.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I'm not entirely sure what they actually say, so it would be the latter, and maybe the former. Though I'm currently on a crappy monitor, so we'll see when I get to my real one.
I can about see the word "nuisance", though, which I think may be good.

Check out my fanfiction! That picture works for me.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! It's weak, but better than nothing.
The characters (Asterix and Obelix) are talking about an earlier discussion with another character while casually batting their attackers away. Their minds are not really on what they're doing.
I can cut it back to just the bottom panel if that would be preferred. I may also be able to touch up the writing, as I admit it's a bit light.
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMHere's another cut & paste. I tried to touch up the text a bit in these panels.
If we can get a general agreement that this is a direction worth taking, I'll go to the effort to touch up the bottom panel of the previous pic.

I like @12, if only because I was, once upon a time, an Comic Book/Asterix fan.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBump; any other thoughts?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman12 is very fun. As Astérix always is. It's also legible. I vote for it.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I'm unabashedly biased towards anything Asterix.
Is that an official translation? The text looks kind of amateurish.
Otherwise, I'm good with it.
Moon◊I've put it up and tagged it. Might use some downsizing, tho'.
Caption ideas?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanA smaller version (250px instead of 300px)
Caption: They do this a lot

Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMI thought it was a little on the large side before, and it's still rather large. I don't think a caption would be needed for it, though.
Check out my fanfiction!I don't think it can be reduced any further without making the text unreadable, requiring heavy touch-ups which would be too noticeable. I made it as small as I dared while keeping readability in mind.
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMYeah, the only option would be to just rewrite the text. It's kind of bad as it is anyway. But it still works at this size.

Check out my fanfiction!
The image was from back when this trope was called "Kicking Ass and Taking Names" - indeed, it demonstrates that name (asskicking, as in a Rube Goldberg machine with shoes attached that literally kicks an ass) but it never demonstrated the trope. I'm afraid I have no idea how to actually picture this, but I move to pull the current as it's completely unrelated to the trope at hand.
