I say Knightfall should be taken down, replaced with either a higher quality version of the Knightfall & Beyond's image◊ or the iconic image of Bane breaking Batman's back. Or Batman confronting Az Bats. A clear image of just Azbats holding the cowl from that cover would be perfect (without the cover text, naturally), in my opinion.
Because really, Az Bats is only one small part of Knightfall. And Batman is probably the most iconic comicbook character to get a 90s Anti-Hero Substitute.

Check out my fanfiction!I agree. Batman standing there in a fancy costume gives no indication that he's a substitute or an anti-hero.
Not seeing Anti-Hero Substitute in that image.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI like the first image better, but the dialog in the second one makes the "substitute" part clearer.

I still don't think it's very clear.
Check out my fanfiction!I don't see substitute in either of those pictures.
In the second one, he says, "I am Batman". That's clear enough to me. The different costume and the fact that he's shooting guns is enough to say that this is someone else.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Or it's a darker version of him.
Check out my fanfiction!, Pretty much.
Given Batman's iconic enough that he's got a trope specifically about how he never uses guns, I think it's clear enough that it's a new Batman in town.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. There is no trope specifically about how Batman never uses guns. There is a trope called Batman Grabs a Gun, but that is not meaningful in the way this is intended to be.
I think that detail fails to clear the "universally known" bar, which is pretty high.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I think that when someone sees a picture of Batman using a gun the probability is higher she'll think "Batman uses a gun here? So it's a particularly cynical version of him?" than "Batman uses a gun? That's clearly OOC, so it must be someone else!"
For the record, I was unaware that he never uses guns before reading about it here on TV Tropes.
Check out my fanfiction!I think both Azrael and "Toddman" (especially the former) look like '90s Anti-Hero versions of Batman in terms of their choice of costume, so either would be good. I actually like the Azrael picture better, because I find it more sinister looking.
Edit, edit, edit, edit the wikiNo to both of 6. No indications for me there.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI did a search for something I remembered hearing about Superior Spider-Man and him killing a villain (something Peter never does). I wondered if perhaps a smaller version of this could be considered (or at least an image link)?
I bring it up because while Batman is known for his aversion to guns, he's still The Cowl, and so as noted, his "substitutes" could be interpreted as Bruce in a dark situation.
On the other hand, Spider-Man is IMO pretty well-known as a wisecracking sort of light-hearted character who can be scary if pushed, but wouldn't kill in cold blood (as pictured here).
Alternatively, there is this◊, showing the aftermath of a savage beating dished out by the "Superior Spider-Man", and Ghost!Peter looking on in horror.

Edit, edit, edit, edit the wiki I can't see it.
No, I meant the link doesn't work.

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Yeah, not sure it is the best, just putting it out there. This trope kind of lends itself to Just A Face And A Caption anyway, and so I was thinking that the picture would be best if it showed the Substitute doing something ruthless/evil at odds with how the actual hero would act.
Edit- That's funny, you meant it literally and I took it figuratively. Not sure about finding a working link for that one, I'll see if I can.

Edit, edit, edit, edit the wikiEdited this◊ pic of Superior Spider Man. I think this gets the trope across: - shows Original-Spidey of the stance not to kill the villain whilst New-Spidey decides to anyway. Thoughts?

That's just... really, really confusing, to be honest.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Yeah, I have to agree, the layout of that doesn't make a lot of sense.
It relies on text and it looks like he just changed his mind. This seems difficult to have an image for. I say let's leave it blank for now.
Maybe a Toddman with guns side-by-side with Batman using Batarangs to contrast them?
I still think Toddman on his own is better than no image, but ah well.
Here's something to work from, mayhap.◊ Or a two for one◊. Or this one.◊ This works since it shows him walking away from what appears to be Batman's dead corpse, it's relatively light on the Anti-Hero, but... it does look like he stabbed Batman with a Batarang which is something◊.

The current pic on Anti-Hero Substitute is the same teaser image for Azrael as Batman that's being used on ComicBook.Knightfall. I'm honestly undecided about which it should stay on, although I lean toward the latter. Another issue is that the one on Anti-Hero Substitute is way over the size limit.
