I agree this page needs an image. When adding the article, remember to write it as a Wiki Word like HairIntakes or it won't link. Those examples are okay, but I think they are too subtle to get the point across. I had to do a Google Image search to understand the meaning, and this one illustrated it nicely. Even better, it's already on TV Tropes, so I can post it directly.

I don't think "visual tropes" are really tropes if it just means "has trait X" and not "has trait X, which communicates meaning Y".

D'oh. Never really posts in these parts of the forums, so I probably did make a couple mistakes on the way. I like those images you used Rethkir, I just used a couple of images to get us started, hoping somebody would find something far more suitable.
huh, I could have sworn that the page originally did have an image a few years ago.
Apparently, this is a fairly young trope. Was just launched last month I believe. I can't help but wonder if this used to be a trope then later on got deleted and then was recreated. Might explain the image that Rethkir found.

That.... can't be right. I've seen this trope before a long time ago. I believe I first heard of it when looking up Hair Antennae. Perhaps it was cutlisted and sent back to YKTTW for some reason. At any rate, no need for the collage. One picture would do just fine.

Sorry these are coming in so late; this is the first chance I've had to actually post in a thread. Here's some ideas:
We also need to determine if this trope is strictly where the "intakes" are on the crown of the head behind the bangs or not...a few of the examples are of characters with parted, arching bangs that don't really seem to fit the trope IMO.
