I think the one of Homer's silhouette when offering Bart brownies in "Cape Feare" is more terrifying than the current image.

That, or Bart imagining Homer's face melting after leaving Bart at soccer practise.

The suggestion is marginally better, although the image quality leaves much to be desired.

I like that — better quality than #1 and more directly fuelling nightmares even for Bart.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

I approve of 3 as well.

Yeah, number 3.

Obvious caption is "Can't sleep. Clown will eat me."

I like everything that's been suggested so far.

Here's Homer's melting face.

Better quality of the image in the OP.

And of course, we already have a good-quality image of the clown bed.

The clown bed actually illustrates scary, and don't just shows an image we're supposed to find scary.

Homer's melting face has the same problem as the melting face picture suggested for Nightmare Fuel.Fiml. That said, I like the clown bed.

I like melting Homer.

I don't see how the current works when it's a fairly bloodless injury being played for laughs. It could be Fridge Horror, because it does get creepy when you think about the injury, but...

[up] Agreed; that would work for Nausea Fuel more than Nightmare Fuel, methinks.

Th clown bed is more nightmare fuel than Homer with a knife.

Though to be honest, I always found the scene in question hilarious, while the clown is genuinely freaky.

So, should we go with the freaky clown bed?

OK, I've put it up and tagged it. I have no idea where the old image is referenced though.

[tup] I don't think it is possible for another caption to be more appropriate.
