Ahh yes, the Nui hate train was real...which makes what happens to her extremely cathartic.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Isn't hating her sort of the point? I guess it's a fine line between Love to Hate and actual hate for the character.

Kind of like a Cartman thing, huh?
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Oh no I genuinely hate her as a character.
She screams Villain Sue to me.

Well yea, that's what I was referring to. Most of the hate just stems from her being a loathsome person, not necessarily a terribly written character.
Of course, the line tends to be blurred a few times.
Oh, speaking of

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I don't understand how she can be a Villain Sue, considering that in the end she gets utterly humiliated and defeated and that all of her previous victories were basically meant to make you enjoy her utter humiliation and defeat more. Still, I guess that's the point of the YMMV tag.
She looked like an invulnerable Sue until that point.
I think it was worth it; made it all the more satisfying to finally see that troll snap.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I don't even get how she qualifies as any sort of sue, nothing she does contradicts anything or is ridiculously out there for the plot.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Dude, the first thing she does is nonchalantly defeat a transformed three-star goku uniform with her pinkie finger, and otherwise act like she's exempt of physics.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. But isn't a sue a character that is insufferable because the author doesn't realize it? She's insufferable because the author wants you to feel joy when she eventually gets disarmed, snaps and then gets defeated again.
So does that make the entire Worf Effect trope a qualifier for suedom :V
Besides, we did get a reason later on why she's so overpowered.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.we got one fairly soon after she was introduced when we found out she was a tailor.
given that clothing is a symbol of power in KLK it's not a stretch to think tailors would be super badass. the point was to make satsuki and her elite four look like children playing dress-up.
of course after that we get a more specific explanation explaining what exactly she is and it makes even more sense.

Mako's too funny and awesome to be {{The Scrappy}. As for Nui, while I disagree with the complaints about her being a Villain Sue, I can see why people find her to be one, and the fact that she died on her own terms instead losing horribly in death doesn't help {Sure, Ryuko pretty much made Nui's sacrifice for Ragyo pointless, but it's not like Nui will ever know that}.
The Scrappy is a YMMV trope for a reason.
It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.Ragyo also died on her own terms.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Hate Sink would best describe Nui's character. She's there to be hated, and it obviously worked.
I'm one of the few who actually like her though.
I thought she was hot.
Until she snapped. Then she became ridiculous.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I was always slightly distracted by her intentionally Limited Animation.
I sure said that! You can project a movie on her hair.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. Her costume wasn't even that good looking.
Knee-high platform boots were never in style for a reason.
She's cute, I'd give her that. She's also kinda funny, what with her version of But for Me, It Was Tuesday being both really obnoxious and really ridiculous.
What is it with bad guys and Tuesday?
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. It's the unofficial "ruin a main character's life" day, popularized by M. Bison in the Street Fighter movie.
No one knows what it's like, to be the bad girl, to be the sad girl—behind blue eyes.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
