Yes, this trope had a thread before, but it was exceedingly short with all but one post agreeing with the first suggestion.

As the last post indicates, I know Steve Trevor is supposed to be military, but has he ever been portrayed as anything more than a gender-flipped Lois Lane? And in response to the question posed in said post, I'm pretty sure Diana and Steve were never portrayed as romantically involved in any post-Crisis incarnation, so not only is it JAFAAC it may not even be an example.

The image would be marginally more acceptable if it were in color so Steve was more clearly in a military uniform, so that might be a starting point for a better image, but if Faux Action Girl doesn't have an image it's hard to see how this could have one either.

I am not seeing how this is JAFAAC. That would be if it were only one person, or them just standing side by side.

The army uniform on him would at least imply he's not useless. I'm voting Keep Until Better Image Suggested too.

... I actually think this image is pretty great. It's about as far from JAFAAC as possible, the only potential issue is that it might not be an example. And given that he's listed as the Trope Codifier and, at the very least, the Live Action version was either badass or Adaptational Badass (as is the Justice League version, which is the only one I'm familiar with), I'd say he's an example.

I do agree that color would help it, though. It's pretty clearly a military uniform at first glance so it's not BAD, but color would help.

^ It is an example. Just because it is no longer an example in the current continuity does not mean it has stopped being an example at all, that is silly.

The army uniform implies that he's Badass. Being carried implies that he's lost his badassness. That's what the trope page is describing so it looks good to me.

Can we at least change the caption? Something that points out the military uniform or something?

The caption could definitely use some work...no ideas right now, though.

Is this fanart? Because the waist and face of WW just look very weird to me. It's not a very good image, imho. Still on K'UBIS level, but not very good.

Definitely fanart, but I don't think it's that bad.

The only thing I've found that's close is this. It's not bad, but the overall style of the current and the impression it gives me makes me lean toward keeping it.

I like that actually. He has a manly face, much more than the current. The only thing that could make it better is if he had a military uniform or visible muscles on him.

I think it looks somewhat better as well, artstyle aside (which definitely is better).

Yup. It's swapped in and the tag's adjusted. I really don't care for either the current caption or page quote; any ideas?

Ideas for the caption: "Honey... shouldn't you at least be able to walk for yourself?"

Alternatively: "Err, hun? I think you can put me down now."

Or, last but not least, a play on a classic stock phrase: "*sigh* My hero...-ine."

Alternatively, for extra lulz, you could just keep it to the classic "*sigh* My hero"; leaving it ambiguous - thanks to the sigh - as to whom is saying it. tongue
