I've been curious. Now that the "Edit Page" button has appeared, do you think it's safe to edit a page without getting 405'ed?
Should be.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyThat did it for me, too, Eddie. (The Corrupt Politician page image was the only one I was reliably not getting, and it's there now.) Thanks.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Ahem, it's Sleazy Politician.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOooops. Whatever, the one from the Simpsons. It's there now.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.So, nobody's getting 405'd while trying to post? :/
Ponders too much; thinks too little. Currently goes by Knowlessman.I most certainly am not.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm going to post this link again, to educate those who are confused about the art of cache-clearing.
In fact, is it possible to add this to the thread header?
Hyperforce Go! http://vmkid.me/I have cleared the cache, cookies, and history. Both my iPod and my laptop are still getting 405 errors. I can get around them, obviously enough, but they're still an annoyance.

Ponders too much; thinks too little. Currently goes by Knowlessman. So, I was finally able to edit a page just fine without any problems of getting 405'd. I was just lucky, I guess.
I just got hit with a 405 a second ago, but after a minute or so I was able to get the edit through.
No idea what could cause a 405 in this case. It means that the POST method is not allowed, for some reason. Will study on it.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyIt's back Eddie. Thanks again, man.
So for those not following the Tech forum thread: this is also the cause of two other errors you may notice:
- some crowners to do the math/counting wrong
- some tropers cannot give hats in YKTTW
Crowners have been turned off for the time being.
For the curious, I blogged about this, from the perspective that DDOS'ing a site like TV Tropes discredits hacktivism as a force for positive social change.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I have been noticing "hiccups" lately with load times for the site for both fora and wiki. I am thinking this is likely on just my end at this computer.
Could it possibly be from mischief aimed at the site?

Who watches the watchmen?I've not noticed anything about site performance. If anything, the last few weeks have been better than usual.
Check out my fanfiction!Probably just the connection I am coming through then.
Who watches the watchmen?Do we know when crowners can be turned back on?
As I said in another thread, probably once the DDoS is over. And we don't know when that will happen.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAs I said in my blog post the other day, someone is devoting a ridiculous amount of effort to it proportional to the slight they perceive us to have inflicted. There's no telling when the expense (in whatever terms it's counted) of the attack will exceed what its sponsors are willing to pay. There's also been a surge in new accounts created for the purpose of vandalism. So we will just have to see.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Wait, it's still going on?
Last I heard, yes.
They're back! Thank you very much!
