did anyone here have moments where they know they are in deep trouble and now have to answer for it? Recently, I formatted my own drive when I was transferring files to the backup drive when I could had kept the drive intact and just copy the files to the backup. I didn't think that one through...

One time, we had a big assignment to do over the summer holiday. I decided to leave it until the last week. I thought to myself "oh, yeah. I can do it over the week before school starts". Which I was planning to do. Now,I started on 1 Sept.

When I checked the homework task on the school's VLE, the deadline date was 25 Aug.

[up] I had a similar experience in Database Design.

Had to plan, design and create a fully functioning and logical database, filled with all the appropriate functions and what not in SQL. We had about two months to do it and I left it to the last like four days.

I actually chucked the shits and almost broke down because of it. [lol]

And then I got an 83/90 for it anyway, making me feel like a total shithead for acting like a child about it...

When I was on a field trip in 9th grade and I accidently shoved a glass with my elbow and it broke. Thankfully, I didn't have to pay for it.

When after me and two of my mates took a lunchtime off to leave insulting messages at another friend's house (He's from a rich family, so we left a note saying 'YOU RICH BASTARDS' on his family car and we also punched his door and ran) and play on a tire swing, our head of year came into the class and asked for us. (Exiting school grounds without permission can easily get you put into isolation)

We managed to convince her that we were just retrieving a football. All three of us. One football. 50 minutes.

When I was sitting in the sister's village within school grounds, on the floor, daydreaming. I eventually snapped out of my daydreaming and looked up... straight into the face of a dog.

When we were playing in the sister's garden and a nun suddenly came out and started screaming at us. =.=

When I (mistakenly) believed I had accidentally deleted a huge amount of my Dad's work-related pictures off his computer. I actually started crying and hyperventilating and felt like throwing up...and then I found the pictures and felt like a complete idiot for freaking out and panicking.

Back when I was in high school, I had an interesting "Oh Crap" moment. My friend and I realized that class started in five minutes, and we had to give a presentation. We hadn't even started with the research yet. Long story short, we got a B.

[up] Oh I had something like that.

I went to class on Friday semi prepared for my presentation. First person goes. They present a work THEY did.

I realized we were supposed to present a work WE did about a contemporary issue, not a work by a contemporary artist related to an issue. I did not have anything. I had a picture by a guy and was going to talk about him. So I'm going next week with the other kids that didn't present because we didn't have time in class.

eh

Jumping through a window of a house I thought was full of my guys, only to find myself confronted by a very surprised machine gun crew who were very much not my guys.

I'd love to say I did something very action-y and heroic, but what I did was swear loudly and dive back out the window.

That was, at least, the very much preferred and reasonable reaction.

I suppose the gun crew was too surprised to do much of anything?

I had a moment a while ago where I had to write up some Biology practicals, and my memory stick broke. I had to write three practicals in one night, going into minute detail about everything and drawing graphs and working out data, all in for the next day.

[up] I lost an entire assignment due to that once. In an IT class. I hadn't backed it up.

I was made the example to everyone. [lol]

If the teacher wasn't such a good sport about it, I think I may have broke down...

Due to how my assignment worked, I had to just completely rewrite it. ._.

I got an extra day or two to do it though, because the USB stick was corrupted the very morning of the hand-in.

It was brown trousers time when I plugged it in and it was empty.

Oh Crap moments? I have had a few, but almost too many to mention.tongue

My biggest one was when I was riding my pushbike across a busy-ish dual carriageway junction near my old house when I was in my twenties. I avoided the HGV lorry which would have creamed me if I had been REALLY silly, only to end up colliding head-on with a silver Vauxhall Cavalier hatchback (fastback for you North American types) which the HGV had hid from view for a split second and had changed its road position, (I think).

I had just enough time to think something along the lines of "well that's me dead" before the fucker hit me. My bike went one way, my bike's front wheel went another, my spectacles went yet another and I nearly went through the windscreen of the car.sad Luckily for me and the driver the windscreen was laminated, instead of the so-called "safety" glass...

I gave the driver and his wife who was in the front passenger seat their own Oh Crap moment, and damned near a heart attack as well when I managed to stand up, using their car as a climbing aid, not five seconds after I hit the road surface after smashing their windscreen, damaging their bonnet, front wing, headlights and possibly twisting their car's chassis out of alignment. Their faces looked whiter than a white thing from a Moody Blues song.

I think I came very close to dying again in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, just out of sheer shock, as I remember completely greying out - the ambulance crew kept me alive by keeping me talking.

Unlike my usual practice, I wasn't wearing a helmet, and I did hit my head on something, either the car or the road, so I was very lucky not to have a fractured skull or serious brain injury, I had a dent (not a cut, an actual dent) in the inside of my left calf, on the muscle, for months afterwards, but the main longterm damage was caused when I hit the tarmacadam road surface directly on my coccyx (small of the back) and bounced back up only to smash back into the road again.

Back is still fucked to this day and it only gets worse as I get older and fatter.
