Does Not Illustrate: Vampire Refugee

Granted, it's a tough trope to illustrate, but the current picture just... doesn't. At all. It just shows a woman covered in blood and relies on the caption to explain it (so it's borderline Just A Face And A Caption).

Last thread. Conclusion: inactivity/lack of consensus.

Got a better suggestion?

Current is weak, but I disagree that it illustrates "not at all"... not very much, sure.

Tough concept. How about panels 3 and 4 of this from Blackest Night?

As someone who's completely ignorant of that storyline and those characters, I haven't the foggiest as to how that relates to the trope.

I don't think the current illustrates at all well, but it doesn't really hurt anything (except by making me queasy so I don't want to read the rest of the page). Keep Until Better Suggested.

If the picture there is too gory, perhaps we could just replace it with the best vampire picture we can find, no matter who it is? If it doesn't matter that it doesn't visually show itself as an example (and for a trope like this, that'd be difficult), does it matter if it's Not An Example?

A vampire alone isn't this trope. Being Not An Example matters less than JAFAAC but not showing the trope is a disqualifier.

Anyone here who knows a lot about Marvel's vampires? Hannibal King is a pretty good example, and there are some flashbacks to his turning (and subsequent vows that he won't drink from living humans, etc.) that might work. I think his origin story is probably somewhere in Tomb of Dracula so I'll look those over, but if someone remembers more specifically where to search, that would help.

I read her expression as 'oops, my bad'. XD It's too subtle to be a good image, but it's a workable image. I vote Keep Until Better Image Suggested.

the first one could kinda work, it does give me the impression that he's fighting against his monsterdom. I'd support it over the current, at any rate. She looks completely unrepentant.

Sorry, should have been clearer. The good vampire in the trenchoat is Andrew (not Batman unmasked in a bout of vampirism). What I meant to say was that I photoshopped out the top of Batman's head which was showing up in the bottom right corner. I got creative and spliced an arm and a head overtop so he wouldn't distract from the theme; here's the original for comparison.

Sorry, my innuendo filter was burned out a while back by a streak of very literal minded people. Though, in all fairness, Batman was a Bat-Man in at least one elseworlds. ;)

Anyway, I think 14.1 is a good swap. Not too clear on the specifics (just shows one vampire fighting against others), but works symbolically.
