On TV Tropes, it's very common for editors to misuse appearance tropes, as well as tropes whose names make them sound like they could be appearance tropes.
Meaningful Appearance tropes are often misused in ways that overlook the "Meaningful" aspect, resulting in Zero Context Examples and misuse in the form of examples that have no meaning even if the tropes themselves are not People Sit on Chairs.
The Appearance Tropes Cleanup sandbox covers tropes with potential issues. Tropes that simply require cleanup will go through this thread, while tropes that require more significant action will have to go through the Trope Repair Shop.
April 2, 2023 update: This thread is no longer for making changes to tropes, and was brought back from the Projects Morgue solely for cleanup. Making changes to tropes is still a job for the Trope Repair Shop.

Wasn't that his point?
Just because Whedon chose a specific colour for Buffy doesn't mean we have a trope. A trope is a commonly observed pattern found in multiple works by different people.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerDo we have a Meaningful Hair Colors trope yet, as the general supertrope? I know Windows To The Soul is kinda the eye color supertrope, though it needs a bit of help, and Curtains To The Soul just doesn't have quite the same oomf.
So, do we cut Power Blonde and move all examples of valid tropes to Power Hair et cetera?
We don't have such a supertrope. Concerning Windows To The Soul, in the discussion about Green Eyes and Septimus Heap, shimaspawn suggested to make a "meaningful appearance" supertrope for good examples of Green Eyes, since she didn't see a pattern in the eye colour green + functional magic pattern.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm going to be making a Meaningful Appearance supertrope. I'm not quite there yet.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI'd be in favor of that.
And redirect Power Blonde to it under pre-existing term logic?
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableNo. Power Blonde is about the hair color regardless of the style. Power Hair is about the style regardless of the color. Making one a redirect to the other will simply confuse things. Just because there's a term doesn't mean there's a trope.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Oh; sorry. The posts on the previous page quoting external references seemed to suggest that Power Blonde as a pre-existing term referred to the hairstyle in combination with the colour. :?
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableCould Shiny Midnight Black work as a redirect Raven Hair, Ivory Skin?
Other than both involving dark hair, there's no relation.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpShiny Midnight Black would not be good redirect for Raven Hair, Ivory Skin. Maybe it can be a redirect to Hair Colours instead?
"Learning without thinking is labor lost. Thinking without learning is dangerous."Sounds fine to me if we're not gonna cut it.
^ Except the "cut Shiny Midnight Black" option was the clear winner in the crowner.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpThe alternative would be to keep the page, and both options involve deleting all of the page's content. By redirecting it, we keep the 208 inbounds from it.
I think captainpat probably meant 'if we don't keep the page', seeing as if we do keep the page it isn't going to become a redirect.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableSo we are agreeing on cutting Power Blonde? Do we need a crowner to cut it?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI just assumed that the reason we haven't yet cutlisted the Shiny Midnight Black page completely because of it's 208 inbounds. We should decide was we're gonna do to it before finalizing what happens to Power Blonde.
Cutlist it and the subpages, making a note on the discussion page and the cutlister. If the cut is declined, we'll redirect it.
Also, the Power Blonde cut crowner is here.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanPower Blonde crowner hooked.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerHey, all. I was involved in the original discussion that lead to Power Blonde becoming a trope, so thought I'd swing by.
While it seems as if the examples have gone in a problematic direction (ie, all combinations of 'powerful' and blond') the original idea was narrower. IRL, "Power Blonde" is sometimes used to describe women in traditionally male-dominated fields who defy the conventional wisdom that claims brunettes are taken more seriously. Both Hillary Clinton and Margaret Thatcher have been called Power Blondes owing to the fact that both chose to get blonder as their political careers progressed.
In fiction, I believe the trope is in effect if a character is shooting for "I am empowered regardless of what I look like, as demonstrated by how blond I am, suckers", or the author is otherwise using blond to convey confidence and competence in connection with ambition in male-dominated fields.
Buffy Summers, Ally Mc Beal, Samantha Carter, and Supergirl, off the top of my head, fit the idea well. Buffy wasn't even a natural blonde, which is extra tropey, here.

That might be a trope, but both the name and the description are wrong. Putting it through YKTTW might be the best idea.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanNo objection to that, but I would hope to salvage the name, since it's got preexisting terminology traction.

I am afraid that the name is too vague to work on this wiki. Never mind that it collides with Power Blonde.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman
And that doesn't have anything to do with the trope Power Blonde either. Her hair colour is entirely based off different expectations. Power Blonde has no uniting features other than hair colour.
