TLP Crash Rescue - Fixing prematurely launched TLPs and pages

Go To

Prematurely launched pages and pages that weren't fully fleshed out at the point of launching, are a big problem. Since these usually share several problems at once, this thread is aimed at re-running them through the TLP for fixing - the usual fix - or cutting them if they are too bad.

Problems this thread deals with include bad names, not enough/bad examples, unclear description, etc.

For the interested, here's a list of recently created pages. Launches

Note: Please do not request a mod to unlaunch drafts that don't have any issues besides lacking a launch notice/24hr launch notice. While 24hr launch notices are mandatory, there are a few exceptions to the rule. If you see a draft's sponsor launch a TLP without an announcement, it's best to remind them of our TLP Guidelines first. If they continue to repeatedly launch drafts without a launch notice, you can report them on Ask The Tropers or the TLP Community Issues thread.

Release Date Change had no YKTTW and has only 3 tropes. It should be tagged as Trivia if it's valid.

I'm not convinced it's worth a page.

It was discussed in Trope Talk, and the discussion suggested to take it to YKTTW and to make it trivia.

Has anybody watched Assassination Of A High School President? That page really needs some refining.

Jacksfilms, Mike Nnemonic, Clumsy, Captain Britain.

[up] The three of the first four which haven't been cut should be cut (as they're in the wrong namespace) and sent to YKTTW.

I think the last one you mention maybe should go through TRS, because aside from the name, it looks fine.

1. Works page stub, send to appropriate media forum or YKTTW to cull examples.

2. Looks flammable, better torch it to be sure

3. Works page stub, send to appropriate media forum or YKTTW to cull examples.

4. Works page stub, send to appropriate media forum or YKTTW to cull examples.

5. Works page stub, send to appropriate media forum or YKTTW to cull examples.

6. Works page stub, send to appropriate media forum or YKTTW to cull examples.

7. Works page stub, send to appropriate media forum or YKTTW to cull examples.

On any of the works stubs, Cut Listing and starting from scratch is on the table.

[up] Agree with these assessments, although I don't think cutlisting the works pages is a good idea because that also locks the page, which makes them more of a pain to recreate.

EDIT: [down] Missed that. Yeah, you're right.

These are all in the wrong namespaces, making their locking harmless.

The Enemy and Cheshire Cat Studios. By the way, has anybody an idea for a default PM to creators of pages that we are fixing here? Maybe with an invitation to help here?

Agree with standard procedures for those two pages.

May try to come up with a draft PM later.

Cantata, Matt Sloan and The Diviner.

Also, off to cutlist the other stubs.

I'd YKTTW Cantata for examples, cut and PM for Matt Sloan, and The Diviner doesn't exist and shows no record of existing, so I don't think we need to do anything for it.

I think he meant The Diviners, which is definitely a stub.

Ah, yes, I would agree that that could use the cut and PM procedure.

Nintendo Logic definitely needs a cut. Too many problems; unsalvageable.

[down] There wasn't a delay. It was blank like that before I redirected it.

[up] Agree.

And also agree with the redirect you did there, Troacctid. (Although it took me a bit to figure out what was going on, as I managed to hit the page right at the point when the database recognized that the text had been replaced with a command, so the page was blank, but before the redirect was actually working. tongue )

Seconding cut on Nintendo Logic for the usual reasons. Also recommend PMing the author.

Cut. Especially the first one, which is a troper page in the wrong namespace.
