Ok, rumor is that Eddie is now willing to accept that a Five-Man Band can have two women, as long as one of them is The Chick. So that only leaves one reason why this example doesn't fit. But that one reason is a doozy! :)
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Yeah, doesn't fit.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyOr the aforemantioned Power Rangers. [1]◊
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI can't distinguish the roles in the Misfits images. The Power Rangers work really well.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I don't know. The Misfits season three seems to work, though I agree that the other two aren't clear enough. The Power Rangers one is such a classic version of the trope, though, that it seems almost silly to use anything else.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. As much as I loathe the Power Rangers, I agree that they're probably about as good an example of this as we can find.
Aren't the power rangers in suits with when fighing bad guys? If possible, then perhaps them not in suits?
It's much easier to tell the roles if they're wearing their suits.
I think the Power Rangers image works pretty well.
I dunno, aside from The Leader (red) and The Chick (pink), I'm not sure what roles are which Rangers.
But the fact that they are, in fact, a Five-Man Band, and depicted as such, works in the image's favor.
Moon◊Power rangers doesn't work unless you know the characters.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyI don't know the characters, and I disagree. If this isn't the correct way their roles go, however, then I don't support the image.
The Leader: Front center as he's a leader. Another clue is that Heroes Prefer Swords.
The Chick: In pink and with non-agressive pose. The bow also means she won't be involved in violent melée (sp?)
The Big Guy: The guy in black with the massive axe; it's bigger than anyone else's weapon.
The Lancer and The Smart Guy: Here it gets less clear. I'd go for the lancer being in yellow, as he's right next to the hero, and the smart guy being in blue by process of elimination — I reckon calling blue a cooler color is just reading into things too much.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.according to the page, the yellow ranger is The Big Guy, and the black ranger is The Lancer. I do agree that The Leader anf The Chick are fairly easy to discern, but the other three aren't exactly obvious.

please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.The black ranger, with an axe, looks more like The Big Guy, and the yellow, standing right behind the leader, looks more like The Lancer. A spear is a good weapon for The Smart Guy, though.

Check out my fanfiction!Yeah, I also thought the black one was The Big Guy. So, not as good an image as I thought. I'm switching my vote to The Misfits season 3, unless someone comes along with something better.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. We might have to caption who is which role on a picture above their heads or something.
There's here without helmet◊ (And with The Sixth Ranger)
The original cast unmorphed.◊ I think it works better. Especially since Billy is obviously a Hollywood Nerd, ergo The Smart Guy.
Or the Super Sentai version with Gokaiger◊.
I see a group of five (or six) more or less indeterminate people.
Check out my fanfiction! In that original cast pic, Zack looks even more of a Big Guy, showing his muscles, and Jason doesn't look very leader-ish. Trini and Kimberly just don't really express their roles very well there.

somethingOn the Gokaiger one, let me guess: chick, smart guy, leader, big guy, lancer?
I would also accept (though I'd be less happy with): chick, lancer, leader, big guy, smart gal.
If it's the first, then it's my favorite so far.
If it's the second, then I'd call it a toss up between that and misfits season 3.
If it's none of the above, then I'm not impressed.
I'd still like to see more options, but we may have to face the fact that live-action versions aren't as blatant as drawn ones. We may need to resort to captions to clarify.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Clock is set.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No further action is to be taken based on this thread.
In the Special Efforts thread for Five-Man Band cleanup, it was agreed that Leverage does not count for (at least) two reasons—most notably, Parker is not even slightly The Chick. She doesn't fit any of the required roles. Even if you ignore the internal details, though, the Five-Man Band trope, by Word of Eddie, requires four men and one woman, and this group has two women.
It seems to me that something like Power Rangers would be a much better fit here, but I'm not familiar enough with the genre to offer any concrete suggestions.
