Halloween Thread

In honor of Halloween, I'm re-reading minus.

Because... well, go read it.

That strip was lovely.

Well, I have two jack-o-lanterns this year. One turnip (because they are scarier and more traditional) and one pumpkin (because they are conveniently hollow).

Hopefully they will perform well their dual duties of scaring away gribbly things and, at my request, acting as a beacon to safety for any of the dead who are lost and afraid out there tonight, Wepwawet guide them and Yinepu guard them.

Homework and avoiding my mother. That's all.

I'm actually gonna be glad when Halloween ends, because I hate this gimmick with the changing avatars.

Candy corn: The Antichrist of candy.

I like candy corn. Granted, I haven't had some in years.

I've never ever actually eaten any of the candy I've got. 'Cept peppermint and Snickers, which is less than 10%.

It's really wet and shitty out where I live. I'm looking out the window and seeing little kids in winter coats.

Here's some help for first-halloweeners.

It's raining here as well. We normally get about 300 kids every year.

We don't usually get a lot of kids coming to the door, but so far this year we've gotten the lowest we've ever gotten. One. We've had one trick-or-treater come to the door.

We've had nobody come around, even though the weather was good.

Some idiot nicked my pumpkin, though. What kind of person steals a guy's pumpkin? Oh, well. Hope they have fun with that.

Tvtropes got a few jumpscares outta me.

Moony went as a ronin, I went as, in Scribe's words, "the littlest Black Mage!"

Scribe went as a ranger/green witch.

So at about the midpoint of the evening, Moon muses, "I wonder how many of these old guys handin' out candy are old enough to be thinking, 'I remember when I used to shoot guys like that'?"

And then we saw a little kid dressed up as a Russian officer dude, and I asked, "And how many retired CIA agents are there in this neighbourhood who're thinking, 'I remember when I used to shoot guys like that'?"

I dressed up as a witch when I went to school today That was fun. I love witches.

But my parents wouldn't let me go trick or treating, and I hated that!

Since the Halloween party is delayed, I won't be trick-or-treating yet.

Saw not one, not two, but three of my ex girlfriends while running around the neighborhood. Joy.

It's too late now. And I couldn't defy my parents anyway.

Oh ok.

I am just doing my usual thing, as in, dressing up as an alien-headed thing in a black cloak and pulling a Weeping Angel routine in front of the house. As in, only move when somebody isn't looking at you.

Its surprisingly effective.

I'm gonna buy a bunch of discount candy tomorrow to make up for not being allowed to trick or treat.

IT'S HALLOWEEN!

And Halloween is the most awesome holiday ever, so yay!

I shall be dressing as Robin Hood.

For me, Halloween only really starts when I'm running back and forth getting candy for the door. Then the rest of the night is fantastic.
