My only problem is that there's so much obvious and repressed homolust, it makes every scene a trifle awkward to watch.

I have know idea why you think every scene is awkward; I see no obviously repressed homolust. Most of these 2 episodes were about chase and fight scenes, the male characters have hardly interacted or talked with each other and when they did there was nothing overly touchy or suspiciously affectionate about it: it was all pretty normal. The ONLY scene which could be viewed as awkward due to shonen-ai undertones is the 2 seconds where Shiro blushed when he was saved by Kuro. And if the blushing meant Shiro was attracted to kuro, then he's not gay but a bisexual since he also blushed when Neko appeared naked.

...unless I missed lots and lots of stuff? As a BL-fangirl I'd love to hear where all these scenes of "so much obvious and repressed homolust" are so I can then watch them in fangirl glee.

This reminded me: Neko's fanservice strangely didn't bother me as much as I expected. I guess while it was very blatant, it had a good excuse: she's an animal, animal's don't like wearing clothes and it would be weird if she was materialized with clothes as a woman when as cat she had none.

Obviously, the fact that the cast is full of bishies means that every scene is dripping with homolust.

No it means it will soon or later, if Neko doesn't save day again.

Because nude girls totally negate homolust

After double-checking, as a cat the bell is on her collar (of it may just be a regular collar, not sure). As a human, she has a bell-earring, a bell on her ankle, and the collar expands to fit more loosely than it does when she is a kitten so she isn't decapitated and for more Moe.

You can't just assume that bishounen = copious Ho Yay!

Although it probably is a safe assumption.

This is something I always wanted to ask: if people say bishounen + no very clear interest in women (due to lack of them or whatever) = HOMOLUST RUN FOR YOUR LIVES, AAAAAAAHHH!! Then what happens in all those moeblob shows like K-On etc where the girls are never seen as being attracted to males? Do people go: LESBIANS, RUN FOR LIVES, AAAAAAAH! As well?

For some reason, this discussion is making me wish that Neko is the main character and that all the pretty boys are her harem.

Anyway, the only advice I have for people troubled by all the pretty lads is to imagine them as girls. Same for Neko.

Also, I think Kuro likes Shiro's classmate, who seems to be quite motherly of Shiro. Or were they two separate characters?

Plus, in episode one, I remember bishy commander guy was flanked by two lady officers.

Because for some reason pretty dudes are immediately HOMO. YAOI FANGIRL BAIT., whereas pretty girls are considered fanboy eye candy without necessarily being full of Les Yay. Yay, double standards.

Can you blame them? Most shows with a Cast Full of Pretty Boys pretty much do pander to the Yaoi-loving fujoshi. This wouldn't be as bad if said Bishounen weren't so goddamn bland, but most of them are.

Of course. K-On! relies on blatant yurilust to keep the fans coming. Have you even seen the show? It's all cute girls being close and cuddly with each other, eating sweets, drinking tea, and playing music.

But yurilust is just another element of Moe.

What? Blasphemy. Blasphemy I say. Yui, Ui and Tsumugi are definitely not. I'm not saying it's a Cast Full of Gay...but it is a case of Romantic Five Girl Band.

Much more of the reverse is untrue because a lot of them are within the harem category instead, IIRC.

That doesen't neccessarily change anything.

Never said it wasn't, but their few and far between. And like Tenshi said, most shows with an Improbably Female Cast tend to be Haremshit shows.

That's not really true, at least anymore. Series with lots of girls with vaguely lesbian undertones have become moderately popular

...Wow, this is off-topic. To answer what started the derail, there is a lot of prettyboys, and there has been some Ho Yay, but it doesn't look like it's going to be major

Just my two cents: pretty boys do not homolust make. But people are gonna see what they wanna see.

Going back to topic... I think it'll be funny if the plot twist was possession... except it was good!Shiro doing the possessing.

Whatever is the deal with Shiro, I don't think I'll be surprised.

It's been mainly art-heavy and plot-lite which does not bode well for intricate intriguing story-telling.

I'm just watching to see whether or not they can make both girls and boys happy (enough) to keep on watching.
