It bugs me to no end that I can't internally italicize something in a Pot Hole.
Does this belong in this thread?
Evil is my favorite color.I see no difference except one's red, and that's only because it's linked to a nonexistant page.
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere. The nonexistent page converts double quotes to single quotes when the existing page preserves them as doubles.
I typed:
- [[HomePage Link "One"]]
- [[NonexistentPageAkaRedLink Link "Two"]]
I get (extra space for emphasis):

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Red links are British.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickEven more curious is how in forums, if you have multiple links to the same redpage from within separate posts, the first one(s) render blue and only the last one renders red.
For example, If I post this:
- [[RedLinkCircus "Red" or "blue"?]]
I get:
But...

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up....but if I make a second post with the same link, I now get:
.... hmm, don't you just hate it when even a bug has bugs? It's being more elusive than a certain pimpernel.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanLet me try it again -- 'link' (and those are double quotes, not singles) ... hey, there! It just happened!

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Now it's displaying as you said it would — the first two are blue and that most recent one red. On Friday, both were red for me even directly after you posted.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Okay, so the multiple redlinks showing up as blue seems to occur when:
- The same name is linked in two different posts by different users (or at least separated by a post from different user).
Rendering double-quotes as single-quotes on redlinks BUT NOT on bluelinks is still a bug though.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Is this still an issue?
Yes, based on what I see in the Wiki Sandbox.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman
Because in some (okay, many) scripting languages they have special meaning so literal quotes need to be escaped internally.
At any rate, compare the following:
Both of these are typed in the format of [[WikiWord "label with double quotes"]]. So why the difference in their rendering?
