I can't see this trope being properly pictured without some form of dialogue specifically highlighting that the character is uber powerful/powered up.
We can dig up pictures of Goku, Super Man, Dr. Manhattan, anyone from Bleach, any of the goddesses from Ah My Goddess, or anyone else listed on the page, and they'd still be JAFAAC if they aren't saying anything about powering up.

...why?
Wouldn't a display of power get the idea across just as well?
I mean, Power Glows, Power Gives You Wings, Power Makes Your Hair Grow, none of them needed dialogue to show that the person in question has power/is powering up. Why can't we just show someone, say, crackling with electricity/wrapped in a Battle Aura/whatevs, and visibly levitating at the same time?

I have a message from another time...Would something as simple as a levitating crystal work? Just a quick GIS example. Or is this trope just about characters who float?

Check out my fanfiction!Anything with power that levitates as a result of said power works, I think.
Or, you know, stuff that levitates just because it has power of any description. Sometimes there's no reason why that power would make them float.

I have a message from another time...I like any of those, and they're better than the crystal. The current is an awesome chair, but isn't the trope and those (the third followed by the first and then the second) are better.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.1 > 3 > 2 for me.

please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.3 > 1 > 2 for me.
Caption for 3: "And power makes other stuff float, too!"
I have a message from another time...First one, as it clearly shows the "power" bit there.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman2 > 1 not 3 for me.
Check out my fanfiction!Crowner for the crystal and the Magneto pics?
edit: made one. I used a cropped version of the crystal image that has no subtitles, I hope that's all right. Feel free to change it to the original suggestion though.

please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.I like the 2nd Magneto pic because lightening=power.
> attach crowner
> You can't do that to the crowner.
> get crowner
> Crowner is now in your inventory.
> put crowner on thread
> You can't use those things together.
> $#^%^&& you, game
> Such language.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.The third Magneto pic would work... but how well does it look at wiki size?
Pretty good.
I think #1 could still work with the various heroes at the bottom cropped out.
It could work, but I like the effect of everyone looking up at him.
Yeah, I think it works best with the heroes in the shot, because it forms a clear contrast between the grounded heroes and the floating Magneto.
I still like #3, though.
I have a message from another time...Bump for votes...this'll be ready to call tomorrow unless there's a big swing in the votes.
Seeing no such swing, I think we can call this one. The new pic's up, potholed, and tagged; caption at will. Locking up.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
I think we could do better here. The hover-chair is cool, but first of all, it's only the floating, and not the power.
Also, it's not on in that picture.
I would prefer an image of some superhuman or something hovering while also showing a display of power.
