For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B to Z, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

Bleh. I actually meant to be here, but time somehow got to me.
This is a signature.By the way... Of course, this Thursday is Thanksgiving in the United States. Consequently, as we've done in past years, we're going to be taking that night off so people can be with their families and stuff their faces with food. I'm sure a lot of us could already figure as much, but I just wanted to say it, anyway.
Anyway, tonight, we're falling back on another Troma Films classic: The Toxic Avenger, the story of a 90 Lbs. geek who falls in some green muck and becomes "The First Superhero Borne Out of Nuclear Waste".
You can figure out where this is headed...
I'll definitely try to be there tonight. Spent the last few days being followed by drama I didn't want to deal with.
Starting up with more episodes of Get the Picture and Legends of the Hidden Temple.
Then, at the top of the coming hour, we begin the Troma Film classic The Toxic Avenger.

Alright. I'm gonna be here for as long as possible. If I go for a few days without activity, just get in my face, and wave a flag. I'm serious. I realize that I said that I'd show up, about a week ago, and I just didn't. I will try to not let that happen, again.

This is a signature. So we're at our last night, before we take a day off for Thanksgiving, and we'll be ready to enjoy some Japanese superhero nonsense that supposedly served as inspiration for RoboCop (although the Wikipedia article on the RoboCop movie cites inspiration from Judge Dredd and other cyborg characters)
This is... 8-Man.
I can't find an actual trailer from this, but here's glimpse of a short scene that helps set up some of the story's plot...
He looks a lot prettier than Robo Cop. Hell, he looks a bit like Cell.
This is a signature.Hostage Taking 101: It's the hostage you're threatening to kill, dumbass, not the attacker.
Hostage Negotiation 101: When they say they'll shoot the hostage if you come any closer, Step 1 is not walking closer.

i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyI should mention this is - obviously - not the original 8-Man show from the 60s, but an OVA from the 90s.
It was pretty much the thought in Japan at the time that the anime industry was in a slump and all the good ideas had been used up. "Darker, edgier" remakes of classic anime, in OVA or TV series form, were the big trend of the time.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Gonna start this feature up Five Minutes Earlier than usual, (7:55 PM EST, by my watch) so we don't run this too much later than usual. Shouldn't make much difference to anyone, but I'm just putting that out there.
Anyway, come on around early right now and get fired up with the usual nonsense. And, at five minutes to the hour, we'll begin 8-Man.

I could have sworn there was one movie that you guys watched where someone runs into a building, up the stairs, out a window without skipping a beat.
Or am I misremembering?
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseWe had a great turnout tonight!! I did a little outreach figuring this movie might have a lot more appeal. And we got to see some old members we hadn't seen in a long time, and a brand new one!
I didn't make it. I got home at a weird time.
This is a signature.x3 That might've been Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky, but it was off the roof, not out the window.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Enjoy the day with your family. We'll return to the terrible movies tomorrow.
In the meantime, if anybody needs anything to hold themselves over with a small dose of high-grade stupid, here's Retsupurae playing "One Night's at Al's Toy Barn" (sic)...
This is relevant to our interests.
Tuned in out of boredom and curiosity, and there's something on about some chick in a busted pickup truck and Snoopy in a hat and mustache in weird live-action animation.
Dunno what I was expecting (besides the Youtube loading screen, maybe), but that wasn't it.
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babySomebody was logged in the chat for over 10 hours, until the following video played. Somebody let that 10-hour video through its entirety.

Oh, Ho-Oh-HOOOOOOOooooooooooooo...
Hope everyone had a pleasant Thanksgiving (or a Happy Thursday, outside the States). Tonight, instead of going on a mad shopping rush, we're back with Kung Fu Friday and the undeniable Godfrey Ho/Cynthia Rothrock classic Undefeatable.
While the kids are coming over today again, and I have babysitting again, I may be able to see tonight's movie. (I don't know how long they're staying, but I assume they'd be gone before 8) Damn, is it nice to see Undefeatable again.
Oh, Ho-Oh-HOOOOOOOoooooooooooo...
Kickin' off Kung Fu Friday, and we got a great night lined up.
Come early and get fired up with the usual martial arts spectacle and unearthly English dialogue. Then, at the top of the coming hour, we revisit Godfrey Ho's indisputable masterpiece—Undefeatable.

I got an overdue paper I should've gotten finished before I came home, so I'm afraid I'm too busy dealing with that; otherwise, I'd probably be watching this. :/
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyI got babysitting yet again tomorrow (or today, technically, as it's past midnight here).
It was nice to see Undefeatable again. Pretty generic title for a somewhat generic yet silly martial arts movie. I love how all these random people know martial arts.

This one is gonna be a real treat tonight.
We watched a sequel to this movie months back which was an enjoyable hit, and now we'll finally get around to checking out the original.
From the director of Starcrash (!!!)—as if the trailer wasn't enough to suggest that already—here is Lou Ferrigno as Hercules.
That would both be thoroughly entertaining and provide a difficult challenge for the film protagonist to overcome. I'd be on the edge of my seat!
Anyway, we're setting off with more of Legends of the Hidden Temple, new delightfully entertaining "Gaming in the Clinton Years" videos from Retsupurae, and a goodbye tribute to L. Ron Hubbard & Friends' Road to Freedom LP, which is now lost to us.
Then, at the top of the coming hour, we got some obscure 1950's B-movie actor nobody has ever heard of partnering with a monkey in Bedtime for Bonzo.
