For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B to Z, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

Oh, there's a thing?
I wasn't even being serious about that last bit.
At one point during Cutthroat Island, I thought "this should be a trope". But damn it, I forget what it was that I thought should be troped.
I don't completely have tomorrow's movie decided yet, but I split and am uploading Grizzly Rage by David DeCoteau.
Wow. And that's in 2007. I'm looking forward to this bear suit.
An added element of danger for the cast and crew, until they have to replace him with a guy in a bear suit.

I won't be able to make it tonight or tomorrow (college open day and a job interview, respectively), so I'll see all of you on Thursday night.
EDIT: Actually, I might be able to make it tonight (the open day isn't until the evening).

Okay, former and current students! Listen up!
At the top of the hour, we're going to be attending the graduation of the Class of 1984. I hear these students are real rowdy though. In 15 years, we might need killer robots to deal with them...
But before that, Mighty Max finishes his campaign against the dangerous Skull Master in the two-part "Armageddon" finale!

How the heck did you find this?
In other news, the name David DeCoteau is finally popping up again in the coven. I believe this might only be the fourth time we're watching anything with him in a director's capacity (after Dreamaniac, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama, and A Talking Cat!?!—all -rated flicks), although he did work as a producer for Linnea Quigley's Horror Workout () and, maybe, a few others that we've seen.
Between the puppetry-based sci-fi/horror fare he'd make in the late 80's and early 90's and... whatever the hell it is that he does today, tonight's fare catches DeCoteau at a point in his career where he was making TV horror movies for the SyFy Channel. And with that, I give you... Grizzly Rage!
He also made a movie called Badass Showdown with Cynthia Rothrock dominating a bunch of men, which supposedly is a fetish of his. It was said to have awful choreography and to have been clearly designed by someone unfamiliar with martial arts.
I'm sure several of us have seen the trailer for that one before. That thing looks so toxic, there's no doubting that the only thing that movie is good for is an all-but-assured X rating, if we were ever really looking to hurt ourselves.
The clear thing about that movie and "martial arts", though, isn't that it was "designed" by someone with a lack of familiarity but that the male actors were cast solely based on what they look like without a shirt, rather than what they know about any type(s) of fighting style. Secondly, I feel damn well certain that DeCoteau and anybody else behind the scenes had no way of covering the insurance and liability, if they were to perform more strenuous martial arts or acrobatics on a stone patio surface, even if anybody could have attempted some of that.

Shame on me for missing Class of 1984. it's one of my favorite flicks, and I really wonder what you guys
...Ouch.
In fairness, there weren't many of us who voted on this one, and it was evenly split between and ... but in that eventuality, we round down.
I thought it had a few things going for itself, though.
Well, as Nightmare may or may not have demonstrated, I'm a sucker for a gruesome finale, so maybe I'm overrating it a bit. But I do think it's a better-than-average exploitation flick, in any case.

Okay, first we get on the Hoe Bus, and once it stops, we got our pre-show, containing a review of an awful smartphone game, a semi-gritty reimagining of Legend of Korra, and some Ben 10.
Btw, I'm not against playing more Mighty Max episodes in the pre-show, but we finished the Skull Master saga. If anyone has other pre-show suggestions, be it a show or a series of videos, I'll check it out.
At the top of the hour, it's Grizzly Rage. The guy who brought us that movie about a talking cat now brings us a movie about a grizzly bear, but I'm pretty sure the bear doesn't talk.

Cytube isn't fucking working for me right now. Anyone else having that problem? I got disconnected and the site won't reload.
I just remembered that tomorrow night, NBC is airing the onetime-only spectacle of Peter Pan, performed live, with Christopher Walken playing Captain Hook.
I'm not really expecting that to mean much, ultimately, but I have to admit part of me is feeling curious.
Well, Cytube works again now.
At least they're keeping up the tradition of Captain Hook being played by a hammy actor.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."On tonight's episode of Ben 10 there was a brief ad at the bottom of the screen for a show called Zixx. It was not a good show and featured terrible CG animation mixed with live action acting. Season one was called Zixx Level One, season two was called Zixx level Two and the third season was called Zixx Level Three. I'd recommend taking a look at an episode one day but all I can find online is this trailer for the second season.

I accidentally put up a copy with terrible Polish dubbing (one guy dubbing ALL characters), but NotNoa saved the day with a working English copy.
Anyway, ★ in the end. It took forever for the usual David DeCoteau shirtlessness to occur. "I can lure out with my clothes." I'll bet.
Now, I just learned about a movie called Congo, based on a book by Michael Crichton. It has a talking gorilla. It's action-adventure, set in the Congo. It has a talking gorilla.
Well, talking using a computer that translates its sign language. And we're supposed to take this movie seriously. Hmm... I think we should check it out sometime...
Yes, we should. To be honest, I'm surprised it hasn't come up yet.
I remember seeing that in theaters as a kid. My parents were big fans of Crichton's Jurassic Park, and watching Speilberg's movie on opening day was made out to be a huge event in my childhood.
I suppose my parents were expecting a bit more of the same when a Congo movie came out. Nevertheless, I damn well remember it was no Jurassic Park!

You just learned about it?
The movie features Tim Curry playing a Romanian philanthropist with such an over-the-top accent you expect him to say "Bleh!" after all his lines. ("Travelink the world and doink goot!")

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Okay, I'm definitely gonna pick up Congo then. We'll probably see it next week.
Dude, we can roll with that on a Saturday or Sunday, if we really want to do this right. Congo is a weekend movie, if there ever was one.
Got it. (in both senses of the term)
Magnum Opus Dissonance.
