For second when I read the title, I thought the thread was about me.
The smartest idiot you will ever meet.Yeah, I want to be more social for my own sake.
‽‽‽‽ ^These are interrobangs. Love them. Learn them. Use them.Unless you're trying to get a job or are in some other situation where other people's opinions are really, really important.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Yeah. But other than that
‽‽‽‽ ^These are interrobangs. Love them. Learn them. Use them.Oh, yeah. Other than that, yeah, crack on.
I myself am a huge fan of certain stereotypes and have adopted them with gusto!

'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'I have to be physically fit myself; job requires it. PT every morning at 0600 keeps me in shape, especially Sgt. Baer PT.
Just a random interjection.
On the other hand, I unintentionally fit the "inactive" part of the stereotype as I'm unwell and unable to do sport or much physical activity. Guess that gives me more time waste here!
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Oh, certainlzy, screw sports, who the hell cares about sports, as such, especially competitive ones. One has a life.
No, I mean that one should simply stay fit.
Also, socializing is simply for the sake of meeting and getting to know new and interesting people, whose companionship may improve the experience of your life in one way or another.
Many non-nerds make the sacrifice of spending time with people for the sake of spending time with people, not doing anything intersting or profitable in the meantime, failing to even improve their own capacity to socialize.
Do not fall into that trap: if you would learn more in an hour by reading a book than by hanging around people who seem to go out of ther way to be socially stagnant, read a damned book.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I'm totally a nerd.
I still have a good number of friends.
A large portion of which are female, oddly enough.
True, that.
This is all the more important for me since I am an aspiring writer.

Bite my shiny metal ass.
I loathe the Stop Being Stereotypical mentality too. What's wrong with belonging to a group? I am an unrepentant nerd, and I never want to pretend not to be one. The reason I started working out and putting more effort into socializing is that I'm aware that those things are good for me, and I genuinely want to improve myself.
You should do things for your own sake, instead of concerning yourself with what other people think of you.
