Yu Gi Oh!: East Academy

Daniel watched in disappointment as Stardust Dragon rushed to the Mirror Force card only to be struck down by lightning from the sky. With the dragon gone, the barrier was the next to activate, blowing away Archfiend with the same white fire used by the dragon earlier.

Didn't quite work out, I suppose, but I'm not in too bad a position. Our fields are pretty much the same. Not only that, the threat of Mirror Force is now gone. Now, I just have to bide my time and wait for my chance to strike.

"Not bad, forcing me on the defensive, but this is far from over. Now come at me!"

Art walked down the hallway back to...somewhere...he did not care where. He just wanted to get away from that shrieking little harpy. In fact, if Harpy Lady was associated with that frigid little bitch, Art was willing to bet the card'd be offended.

Thought she knew everything. That she was, always, the best. That strength was set in stone.

He wanted to make her squeal. He could never stand people like her, who believed themselves so far above others. Despite his prodigious strength, Art never bullied the weak.

It was his duty to defend them. But...with the enemies in this school...how would he...

He was looking very consumed in thought and contemplation.

Gretel stared down the field of monsters, surrounded by radiant swords and with only a lowly face-down card to her name. Something was nagging at her, a tiny thought jumping up and down in the back of er mind, screaming to be heard...

"Shut up," Gretel answered his rant. "Just. Shut. Up. Nothing is decided until the life counter hits zero. Your proud little declarations and your arrogant assumptions that you know the first thing about me don't have a single ounce of legitimacy behind them until you've won! Talk down to me if you beat me. Mock me for my arrogance then." Pure hatred surged in her eyes. "But, until then, Marcus... shut the fuck up."

"My turn," she said, in a tone of voice somewhere between an annoyed growl and a cold hiss.

Then, it clicked, and the cocksure smile was back.

"I wondered why you're saying all this, Marcus; why you're talking down to me because you got a clever turn in; why you're insulting me and hoping to make me screw up with every word you say. I just now noticed the answer."

"Look at your field: you've given virtually all your resources up to beat me down and push me into a corner, hoping I wouldn't notice the fact that you have absolutely nothing more to play. I summon Tasuke Knight, in attack mode!"

The blue portal tore open, and through jumped a man in heavy armour, shield and sword across his back and gauntlets held out to strike.

Tasuke Knight — 1700 ATK

"Tell me, Marcus: is there even a single card in your hand that can help you climb over the wall of such a low attack score right now? Is there a hint of proof that you have more than just one dramatic spurt of power? Now's your chance to earn your right to talk shit! I play the last card in my hand in my Spell and Trap Zone, and end my turn!"

End Turn.

Marcus could feel it, he could see it in her eyes, Hear it in the choked words and the emotional speech that barely masked the fact that her mind was shattering.

"Oh, but I do know you, my dear child. I know everything about you."

He drew his next card.

"And my resources are far from depleted!"

He looked at the card he had just drawn

Hmm, this could actually be quite useful. Still, no need to let her know that.

"Well... fuck." he said, adopting an air of dissapointment.

After a moment he shrugged and played the card anyway.

"I play one card facedown and end my turn."

Monsters: Alien Dog, Alien Hypno, Gagaga Gardna

Gretel stayed true to her word, and kept quiet. Her only reaction to Marcus's turn was the corner of her mouth quirking upwards.

Draw!

She glanced at the card, then looked up at the field.

"I play one card face-down in my back row, and end my turn."

"Next I'll flip my face down monster to attack mode. Des Feral Imp!" He smirked "See my imp here has a rather fun effect when he's flipped I get to choose one card in my graveyard and add it back to my deck" His smirk became wider "And I think I'll choose an old friend called Mirror Force!" he chuckled "Just to let you know I do have more of these bad boys lying in wait."

Marcus calmly drew his next card.

"I cast Burden of the Mighty! To reduce your Knights power by 400 points!"

"Now I'll attack you with Gardna!"

Gaggaga Gardna rushed forward, it's shield surrounded by Magenta energy.

Mirror Force again? Guess Stardust Dragon went down for nothing, not to mention I no longer have Monster Reborn to bring him back. For the love of...

He watched as Dark Blade Captain attacked his own face down Monster, and a flaming shield broke to pieces as Infernity Guardian was sent to the Graveyard.

"Next up, preforming a waltz, Des Feral Imp. Do your thing laddie." The imp charged forward to strike at Daniel with it's rather large claws.

This might sting a little.

"Ungh!" Daniel let out a grunt as Des Feral Imp's claw passed through him.

"You asked to see XYZ monsters so here is my first." He closed his eyes and widened his stance in an an almost prayer like manner which seemed to echo loudly said

"Fallen Angel, Thou shalt be corrupted by the darkness you deceive, Thine crime pride thine fate madness, Take mount upon thy corrupted steed and cut down mine foes, I call thee forth Evilswarm Thanatos!"

A dark twisted mutation of Fabled Ragin appeared mounted on a infected version of The Fabled Unicore. "My first XYZ and one of my personal favourites. He's stood with me through much there are stronger and there are those with better effects but he's an old friend of mine. I think I'll end my turn there."

"So this is the Xyz Monster." Daniel muttered quietly. The Monster was fearsome, his dark form, that horse, the menacing black orbs orbiting around him. Everything about the Monster seemed to have been meant to instill fear into a man's heart. But Daniel steeled himself, this was what he wanted.

"I've been waiting for this." He tried his best to show no fear. He had a plan, and he was going to make it work. "I swear upon my next card, I will turn the tables this turn!"

Draw!

The instant Daniel looked at his card, his face lit up. Well, this came here late.

"To start this off, I activate my facedown card! Now Dark Hole destroys the only Monster on the field, your Evilswarm Thanatos!"

Gretel held her arm in front of her face to shield herself from the battle; the shield-toting man ramming the edge into the armoured soldier, who was moving rather more slowly than expected.

Gretel — 6400 —> 6200 LP

"To resort to using one of my monsters..."

Her eyes narrowed, as the rest of the monsters charged.

Marcus calmly pointed at Gretel, as all his monsters charged.

Alien Dog then Alien Hypno. Total damage: 3100.

The girl raised her hand as if to do something, but lowered it at the last moment, staring down the charging monsters with the same ineffable grin.

Gretel — 6200 —> 3100 LP

Marcus responded with a grin of his own.

"I'm guessing you're not smiling because you've fallen in love with me. So please, make your counterattack. We wouldn't want this to get boring, now would we?"

Sigmund watched the swirling black void swallow the knight and with a sigh said "Ya know, that happens to him scarily often."

"That... actually doesn't surprise me." Daniel replied. Sigmund field was now wide open except for a single facedown lying in wait, and Daniel knew just how to break it.

"I place a single card facedown and summon my Infernity Mirage!" A Monster appeared that was similar to Archfiend in that it had dark colored robes, and crazy hair. However, these robes were dark blue and his red hair was of a far crazier style than Archfiend's. (0/0)

Sigmund nodded

"Now, since I finally got rid of all the cards in my hand, I can activate my Mirage's effect! Now I Tribute Mirage to Special Summon Avenger and General from my Graveyard!"

Mirage's image begins to swirl before splitting into Infernity Avenger and Infernity General.

"With a Tuner and a non-Tuner on my field once again, I Synchro Summon!"

Avenger once again turns into a green ring, and passes through General. Only this time, instead of a pillar of light, there was a burst of fire.

"Emerge from the flames to shake Heaven and Hell! I Synchro Summon Void Ogre Dragon!"

The fire dispelled to reveal a deep red dragon who emitted a fearsome roar into the sky. (3000/3000)

"You're wide open, Sigmund. Attack with Infernity Chaos Breath!"

Staring at the incoming attack "Well this will suck."
