Woodland Creatures has only brought 1 person here and has very few links.

This seems kind of vague and unfocused.

I agree, I really don't see what this is supposed to be other than a list of creatures. Looking at the archived Ykttw, it was sponsorless at launch, and it didn't stay there long.

I kinda lean towards calling Chairs on this and cutting it, but sending this back to Ykttw first might help as well.

[up]Cut sounds like a good idea.

Maybe it just needs to be focused more. Like about how those types of creatures tend to be portrayed as friendly and saccharine.

Do we have an index of animal tropes? Could this become one?

[up] We already have an Animal Tropes index, so no this can't become one.

[up] D'oh, I should have guessed that. Okay, since Woodland Creatures isn't a trope, I suggest it should be merged there.

This is a trope. It is a standard collection of animals used collectively to represent certain aspects of nature.

Yeah, the trope is really Standard Woodland Creatures, which definitely is a trope.

Would renaming it into that help with the usage?

I'd create a redirect, but if it's getting cut, it's better not to, so I'll hold on that thought.

That sounds like a good rename.

I have a mild preference for Stock over Standard, but whichever eventually wins, the other should probably be a redirect, since they're both good search phrases.

I don't think this is "stock" or "standard". It's a type of ensemble, though not common outside child-oriented Western Animation.

Now it's showing. I think I've figured out what's causing it. I'll report it to Eddie.

I think we're acting too hastily here. Stock Woodland Creatures doesn't really fit the description better; I suspect nobody actually read it closely. We haven't even examined the usage that this is supposed to help with.

Although the crowner is unanimous, we have a complaint [up] that this name will not fix the problem and doesn't fit the trope. I'd like to see this resolved before moving forward.

[up][up]First, you might give some detail. Second, re-reading the description makes me think of Woodland Creatures Community.

The problem with calling this "Stock Woodland Creatures" is that it would be unlike Stock Animal Diet or Stock Foreign Name, for instance. Those list a lot of works which have of one or two prominent examples. Here having several is the key.

This is the example of this trope I'm thinking of. It's not listed on Woodland Creatures, but it is linked to from The Onion... to Gang Of Critters, which would seem from its one-sentence description not to cover it.
