I haven't seen it, no. I don't know whether it would offend me or not (it probably wouldn't) but it doesn't really seem to be something I'd find particularly entertaining. As for bringing it up in the anime forums I think that depends. If you're civil about it and don't try to paint the administration in a really negative light it would probably be okay. I do know people have gotten in trouble for that sort of thing when they got overly vitriolic, but that probably always applies.
I can be civil when I want to, as long as I get the same respect in return.
In any case, thanks for the discussion, everybody. I think we can all agree to put this particular series on hold for a while.
Pardon me for asking, but isn't this thread for "restoration" specifically? Aren't we supposed to talk about pages that have been cut?
Listen to others, think for yourself.Yes, but we usually don't reconsider a previous "cut" decision immediately after we've made it.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCorrect. What I mean is, do anyone here have any works that have been cut under the decision of the P5 Guys that said panel members should consider re-review that has not been recently (e.g.: just a couple days ago) judged unacceptable?
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.I could start petitioning for the recreation of some of the more out-there hentai based on how much fun it is to mock them and gawk at all the "WTF, Japan?" on display, but that would be missing the point, wouldn't it?
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.Yes; something like that definitely wouldn't come back, especially for that reason (as cathartic as that is).
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. My understanding is that initial focus for restoration petitions is on things that were cut before current review procedures were put in place. Those are the most likely to be restored, because many of those things were cut in haste and may not have been properly examined.
Shows that that have already been carefully reviewed by P5 aren't so likely to be restored, and I think it is safe to say that P5 doesn't want to keep treading the same ground over and over again when they already have a fair sized backlog to deal with.
Personally, my advice, if you really want something Popotan that has already been thoroughly discussed to come back, is to wait a few years and try again, on the off chance that there might be a shift in perspectives. Otherwise, just focus your efforts elsewhere.

Cool Devices isn't coming back, if that's what you're asking.

You mean years in internet time right? Like 6 months or so?
Honestly, I can't even figure out the reasoning behind the Popotan decision. I watched the whole series a while back, and it just seems... ridiculously innocent in general. (Although the way Mystery Girl seems to pull her top open for no apparent reason is kinda weird.)
It could just be that, since the only series I've been regularly following for a while is To Love Ru Darkness, my ability to recognize less blatant material has atrophied. But I don't really buy that explanation.
On other matters, I'm not sure if this would be the place to discuss Virgin Night or not. Not that I've got anything to say about it, but I could probably *get* something to say about it, if I knew where to put it.
"So... the time has come for you to meet your demise..."I was actually referring to Urotsukidouji. Seriously, who in their right mind could masturbate to that thing?
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception. We're not discussing Popotan for now. If you want to help, you can join me in the Anime section; I'm about to start a thread asking people to argue for it to be restored. I'm not trying to vilify Fast Eddie or 5P; even though I don't agree with their decisions, I respect their opinions about what this site should contain. All I'm doing is making a case for my own views.
You could probably do the same for Virgin Night, if you want a discussion about it. I'll admit I've got no idea what it even is, but as long as it isn't just pornography you should be able to do at least something.
Anyway, I'd like to think the reason we (well, you; I only came here to fix errors and pimp a certain anime series) don't talk about "pure porn" anymore is partly because there's really no way to connect tropes to them, and partly because whatever tropes could be attached would probably not be anything more than complaining ("That's not supposed to go there, dammit!"). It's probably more to it, but if I were Eddie, that'd be my explanation. Am I far from the truth?
Also, now that we've shifted focus, there was this one game called RapeLay...
Listen to others, think for yourself. That's obviously a rhetorical question if I ever saw one.

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Just a reminder: make sure the arguments presented don't amount to basically demonizing the staff. We're only human, too...
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.I was joking around about Cool Devices, but I assume Urotsukidoji is famous for more than just scarring stupid ten-year-olds like myself back in the day, if you catch my drift. :/
I don't plan to demonize anyone. No one's in the moral wrong here.
The thread will have to wait, though. Right now, I'm having a most delicious meal of pyttipanna.
Also, in case my previous post didn't make it clear, I don't think we should in any way have pages on works just to bash 'em. The fact that "everyone" thinks something doesn't mean it's the truth.
Listen to others, think for yourself.Do no make threads on P5 cut works. Threads on P5 cut works will be locked at deleted. Thank you.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWe're not going to talk about the series itself, we're going to argue for why it should be restored. Is that not allowed? I don't see how it could hurt anyone.
If you really don't want us to, couldn't I just ask people to come to this thread with arguments? Not now, obviously, but in a few weeks or so?
Besides, if a member of 5P is perfectly fine with it, what's the problem?
Listen to others, think for yourself.Pretty sure that's what Shima meant, because if it isn't, something needs to be done about the Rance thread over in Visual Novels.
That may very well be, but I'd like to be certain. Banning is something I should probably avoid at the moment.
Listen to others, think for yourself.Sengoku Rance is still technically under review. We're waiting for that to resolve before cutting it.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickOn that note, I still think it's irredeemable.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. All right, so may I or may I not make a thread simply asking for people to help me convince 5P to restore the Popotan page?
Komodin, you're part of 5P and you told me about an hour ago it was perfectly OK. Does anyone else in the group object to it?
Listen to others, think for yourself.
So... anyone have any works to reconsider that hasn't been recently judged?
