Ultra Gore etc. is partly a self-describing name. This name is not represenative, and hence not as good. If we want a cute name, it should be something more like Harvest Babies, Animal Friends Farm, or something like that. An in-universe name would be good if it fits the type.

I can't really think of a name that would certainly most definitely not lead to confusion. I included Shamefully in that hypothetical title because any character caught playing a game like that is invariably made fun of in the show. What name could prevent confusion? Fictional Kiddy Game?

I actually didn't know that Fictional Video Game was a page. This is a subtrope.

The current name is already an easy misuse magnet. Or at least, it would be if the description could decide what it's trying to be. It would be a misuse magnet even when the description is changed. I have no clue how a ridiculous name like this… one… whatever it is could possibly help attract actual examples, let alone wicks for the sake of wicks.

I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn!

How is this title any less self describing than the other one?

[up] Sometimes game titles are polysyllabic, as in: Grand Theft Auto: City of Sins, Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II: Mysteries of the Sith; sound ominous, as in Doom, Resident Evil; convey over the top action, as in Duke Nukem; and may reference sequels and/or advancedness (can't think of an example off-hand, but a cinematic example would be Death Race 2000). Ultra Gore etc. has it all, and makes a joke by making a Single Entendre about the violence and gorn level.

None of that applies for this trope. The titles are usually short and to the point; sound pleasant but not saccharine; convey engaging, open-ended activities; may reference the fact they are sequels but certainly aren't 3000 anything. So a self-describing name would be like Farm Friends Party 3. If you want to lampoon it wildly, you would crank up the baby/cute/slightly tedious sounding factor and call it something like Baby Farm Friends Party 3.

I dunno, I personally like this name as well as Ultra Super Death Gore Fest Chainsawer 3000. I really don't have a good reason besides that I find them funny and I knew what both meant before I clicked on the bluelink.

Although, Catbert, I really do like Stereotypically Stupid Baby Game For Babies. It makes me chuckle.

I think the thing is not all of these have word salad titles, so trying to be self demonstrating isn't exactly accurate.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

Good point. I'd support renaming to Stereotypically Stupid Baby Game For Babies.

I think that this nees redirects that are searchable (the current ones are mostly snowclones)

Also, should we get a solid definition after the rename is resolved?

We better get a solid definition already before the rename.

Calling crowner in favor of a rename.

Got a holler to hook up an alt names crowner, but I see two people stating this needs a definition first. You can't rename a trope without a clear definition.

[up] Hm, that's a good point.

I think the header is off: it focuses on the happy-joy-joy Sugar Bowl content, whereas most of the examples don't.

The definition of the trope appears to be "in fiction, any video game that doesn't involve gore and violence is instead depicted as simplistic, stupid, and boring". This is generally Played for Laughs.

That would mean that actual cutesy games are not an example of this trope.

Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!

For me, this still sounds like "stereotypical harmless game", the opposite of Ultra Super Death Gore Fest Chainsawer 3000

[up] Well, that's what the header of Babyfest3000 suggests, but the examples suggest otherwise. It seems we're having two tropes on one page here.
