@Michael: The attraction is the trope. But we need to be careful in making that too absolute. We don't want to have take one Action Girl who has every guy falling for her and have to list Alice/Bob, Alice/Chuck, Alice/Dave, Alice/Ed, Alice/Frank, Alice/Greg all the way to Alice/Zach. It think it would be okay to say Alice/every other guy in Work X.
But not just Alice.
Everyone Has An Important Job To DoNevermind. I either misread an option, or Rename was added to the option I wanted.
Still, I think we should avoid the word Amazon. It's very, very likely what caused the mess in the first place.

Everyone Has An Important Job To DoPeople were objecting to using Action Girl, too. Is there a third option?
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.I kinda think the only way to permanently fix this* is to keep a close eye on it after we decide what action is to be taken and clean it up.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerWe may need to consider faux redlinking this. We don't want to lose those inbounds, but keeping the old name as a redirect (either to this or Amazonian Beauty) could be problematic, assuming we rename.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.What exactly are you referring to? If you read post 35, I'm quite clear that "Action Girl I find attractive" is of questionable tropability at best, and I don't think I seriously consider it in the rest of the thread.
My issue is more basic: the description assumes it's an exception to the rule of No Guy Wants an Amazon when it isn't, and that obscures what trope it is that it's trying to describe, from among the other options in post 35 and maybe a few I didn't think of or thought of later, or that the Amazonian Beauty split precluded.

I hardly see how using Action Girl in the title will help, consider that it's something that tropers apply to any female character who contributes at all in combat. Most of those female characters are attractive to the opposite sex, because romance is popular in fiction. And weeding through stories to find the male characters talking about being attracted to a woman's physical prowess in order to can cite an example is not only inconvenient, but anything we find will likely fall under In Love with Your Carnage. Also, Guys Want Action Girls or whatever other phrasing just sounds juvenile and silly.
We're not just men of science, we're men of TROPE!Calling the crowner.
Redefine the trope to be about a character who finds a female character attractive because she is an Amazon. Rename. This would make this trope the inverse of No Guy Wants An Amazon.
Let's start brainstorming names, then.
This Guy Wants An Amazon? Amazon Chaser? Action Girl Afficianado?
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Amazon Chaser is fine for me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI support Amazon Chaser.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.I don't know about the Chaser thing. It sounds a bit limiting if one were to take the trope name at face value (that is, having to actually pursue someone, in a romantic manner or otherwise), as more than a few people around here tend to do (I give you the You Gotta Have Blue Hair thread elsewhere in this forum ) regardless of what the actual trope description says.
Not necessarily a deal-breaker, mind you, but it strikes me as something to at least consider.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpI like This Guy Wants An Amazon, it makes it clear that it's an inverse of No Guy Wants an Amazon.
We could make Amazon Chaser a redirect used to describe the guy in question.

Evil is my favorite color.Swapped out the crowners. Feel free to add more names.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Amazon Chaser is Clear and Concise - it gets my vote.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAmazon Chaser can just as easily be an amazon that chases, instead of somebody that chases amazons. Can we improve on that?
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I doubt that will be much of a problem. English syntax tends to parse "X Verb-er" as "someone who Verbs X's", not as "an X which is a Verb-er". Amazon Chaser also parallels Chubby Chaser.
Calling someone a pedant is an automatic Insult Backfire. Real pedants will be flattered.Let's let this crowner go for at least the minimum 3 days, okay?

Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.I think this new name will effectively limit misuse. I'm not sure though that the current page contains many examples of the trope. Should this spend some time in YKTTW for examples help?
Calling crowner in favor of Amazon Chaser.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.We can see how many examples are left after going through them and decide if we need a YKTTW then.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.I made a sandbox at Amazon Chaser. I edited the description a little but it definitely needs more work.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.
Crown Description:
The issue at hand is how best to handle the trope Hot Amazon.- The trope has 1116 wicks and 1837 inbounds.
- A wick check shows 81% misuse, mostly for "Action Girl the editor found hot"
- The trope was previously split into Hot Amazon and Amazonian Beauty. Whether the wicks were cleaned afterward is unknown.
I went ahead and made a crowner. If I missed a viable option, please add it.
I think "do nothing" is not a viable action in this case, given the high level of misuse, so I didn't add it.
If anyone was around for the previous TRS thread, info on whether a cleanup happened would be appreciated.
