Bump.
I've seen examples where the kids only look like their parents. Which is Identical Grandson? Or is a key part of Identical Grandson the generation gap being larger than 1?
... No, wait... Identical Grandson is Strong Family Resemblance, but a valid trope because it applies The Same But More in a sufficiently differentiating way?
PlayingWith.Generation Xerox says:
While the description says:
This trope takes "following in your parent's footsteps" to a whole new level. The character hasn't just inherited their parents' character traits and superpowers — they've inherited their entire life story.

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576It looks to me that Generation Xerox has experimented Trope Decay. It's supposed to be about kids and parents going through similar life experiences, but I've seen a lot of examples that just say "he looks a lot like his father", "like the rest of his family, he has red hair and green eyes", "he's a miniature form of his father", which are Strong Family Resemblance.
Yes. The difference between the Family resemblance tropes and Generation Xerox is that in Generation Xerox, not only do the kids strongly resemble their parents, but they also seem to be living the same life; if the parents were friends, all of their kids are friends as well. If the parents were rival, the kids are rivals. If Dad was a star athlete, one of the kids is too, although possibly in a different sport. Like that.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I would say that appearances or even gender are not required at all, I can think of several girls that are basically exactly like their father in experiences personality and such but don't look a thing alike.
About the trope Generation Xerox, does it only apply to situations where the kids have similar or parallel lives to their parents or does it also include stories where the kids are personality clones of their parents? Or would the latter be a sub-trope or similar but different trope? I'm mainly referring to the tendency of next-gen fanfics to make the characters' future kids act just like their parents.
