All-Purpose Nasuverse Fanfiction Thread

Ah. It's been several months since I played Fate Extra, even moreso since I played the Saber file.

Okay, I had found this Bleach X Fate/stay Night crossover a while ago (read: when it was a couple days old), and wondered if it was any good to deserve a rec on the main wiki.

If curious, the story is here, though I think I should give a fair warning.

In the story, Ichigo and his mother Masaki were supposed to take a short vacation to Fuyuki, when the Fuyuki Fire took place and killed off Masaki that way. Shortly thereafter, Ichigo gets found by Kiritsugu and adopted under the name of Shirou, and then we see 10 years later.

Oh, also, The Stations of the Canon right around the time "Ichirou" (what the fans call this version of Ichigo/Shirou) finds the fight between Archer and Lancer? Slowly but surely averted HARD!!

Beige Prose is so unimaginably dull to read. A character talking in Beige Prose can be funny, but a whole story written in Beige Prose makes me need large amounts of coffee.

I don't really have any problems with it.

Beige prose sucks, I agree. Its my main problem with fanfiction in general. Its bad when I'm wishing for purple prose, because at least then the author is putting love into the story, even if its bad love.

Rorschach makes it awesome.

Most other things... eh.

Again, in dialogue, it can be utterly hilarious. When it is used to narrate... it's less than ideal.

What if it's a story from Rorschach's perspective? XD

There are different kinds of purple prose. Most people can't manage the funny kind. Like Twilights Awesome Adventures... or something I can't even recall how it's written. The point is, it was hilarious.

If so, then it's not half as dull to read as IANCE and alethiophile are making it out to be.

Somewhat more jarring is the occasional switch of perspective without line breaks between.

Seriously, Non-Comedic Beige Prose is not good for narration.

...I don't think I commented on this one. I'm pretty sure I haven't even looked at this one.

Don't have time for a bit. Probably won't bother when I do, since I'm reading about three other things. But I can't comment on the dullness or lack thereof of this particular fic.

New chapter of Fate/EMIYA. Also, there will probably be a new chapter of Gil Tries within a week or so. I just need to decide the activity. It will probably be a suggestion from the reviews, but I haven't read through them in a while.

Well, finally finished the Fate route on the visual novel. Despite really irritating me at one or two points, Saber managed to redeem herself.

Now onto Unlimited Blade Works - and then, after that, the important route, Heaven's Feel.

I just had an idea that sounds pretty crazy: Rin and Sakura both summon Servant Shirou Emiya - Rin gets that cynical, snarky bastard Archer, while Sakura gets a Shirou summoned as Servant Saber, who believed in his ideals even when they betrayed him, never losing his optimism. Where Archer regrets his path, Emiya Saber looks back at his betrayal-filled past, remembers all the people that he helped, and says with a smile, "Worth It."

Because there's already a Saber summoned, Arturia shows up as a different class, probably Rider or Lancer.

Alternately, we could take this Up To Eleven and have all the Servants except Arturia and Gilgamesh be various alternate future versions of Shirou. Rin gets Archer the snarky bastard, Sakura gets The Cape Anti-Nihilist Emiya Saber. At least one of the others would be a Shirou who Jumped Off The Slippery Slope and pulled a Face–Heel Turn, Berserker would probably be a Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds....

Meaning that, present self included, there are no less than seven Shirou Emiyas running around Fuyuki.

That sounds crazy.

But is it possible.

Then again, Archer would, by that point, pretty much go 'fuck it!' and he would just snipe everyone. Or he'd just Rule-breaker the crap out of everyone. Because he's the most cynical jerk around and he's Archer, he should just figure out that Gaia is just screwing with him because he's its favorite chewtoy, so why should he care anymore?

Eva. You need to play UBW in full. The point of Archer is that he did look back on his life and say "Worth it". He smiled as he died because he saved at least a few people. It was the fact that his service as a Counter Guardian was so against his ideal that he turned temporally suicidal.

Unlikely. He should be by far the most pragmatic of the Shirou around, and he is Archer, so he should also be the one most profficient with projectile weapons. Not to mention, he has one of the smartest masters around.

How the hell do you get Caster!Shirou, though? I mean he can be summoned as one, because most of what he does is done through magecraft, yeah, but even so he still isn't particularly competent as a magus. Unless this Shirou somehow was competent as a magus... Which would probably make him have the most dangerous Unlimited Blade Works of the whole war...

Didn't he actually become a Counter Guardian because he thought it'd help him further his ideals..? Just going back and telling his younger self "Being a Counter Guardian sucks, it's totally not worth it and it's totally against our ideals. Don't do it, moron." would have worked better.

I am working on playing through UBW.

I was thinking that Caster!Shirou would be able to Trace fricken spells instead of just weapons.

Unlimited Spell Works.

Also, every single one of the other Servants Shirou Emiya would remember Archer, while he wouldn't remember any of them. And I imagine that at least a few of them would have a grudge against Archer, and would probably make him as high a priority target as Kotomine.

They have no way of knowing if it was the exact same Archer that was summoned. They have no way of knowing where Archer is at any given point (he can go Astral) in time without giving themselves up as well (Archer is very good at spotting things). They have no way of killing Archer without killing Rin while at it. And if they are capes, then they simply would not do it, because anything that could take out Archer without a direct confrontation would put innocents in danger. If they are embittered individuals who have let go of their ideals and can thus put innocents in danger willingly, then they wouldn't be looking to take out Archer in the first place, as his goals are likely the same as their own.

And absolutely none of them would put him as high on the priority list as Kotomine. Shirou is idiotically selfless, but he is not a complete and utter moron.

Do you know how tracing works? If so, then you should know that no, you can't do that. Tracing is nigh impossible to begin with, and it only works due to Shirou's extreme affinity towards weapons, blades in particular, IIRC, even though he can in theory trace anything.

A nice an idea as that is, I don't think Spells can be traced.

Yeah, tracing is a physical thing, and incredibly weird already at that.

Tracing a spell is impossible.

Otherwise, you could trace tracing, create a paradox and cause the universe to collapse because of it. The universe has no Do S protection.
