This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

I think the top quote for Adventure Game is inadequate since it doesn't describe the genre and the quote is too complain-y. I suggest instead we use either of these quotes from Discworld II:
Thoughts on this?
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsI like the Barnslake Killer quote.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI like the Yzihira one the best followed by the Barnslake Killer on.
For the VG page, I'm fine with the current but I don't mind the Lt. Obsidian or Zero quotes either.
For video games, I think Obsidian's or the current quote would fit. The main fan works could have Falla Cii's quote.
The Nightmare Fuel page for Neon Genesis Evangelion has four quotes (sourced from two different videos). It's just excessive.
Personally I like the first quote about the DVD menu, but I wanted to discuss it here.

Discombobulate.Called the crowner for Monster.Grand Theft Auto, implemented it, and unhooked.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe Monster.Red Dead Redemption page has no page quote as of yet, and now that Monster.Grand Theft Auto has a page quote, maybe we should pick a quote for RDR page as well. For example, this from the quotes page:
- Official: Fair citizens of Saint Denis, for as long as any of us can remember, it is justice that separates us from barbary. Yet justice itself can at times be barbaric. For sometimes a man is so savage, the only way to deal with him justly is by savagery. Colm O'Driscoll is one such man. He has murdered, tortured, robbed, stolen, raped, and abused for a decade across five states, seemingly with impunity. Today, justice catches up with him.Colm O'Driscoll: (laughs) As well you may. I've been a bad man!
I don't think we agreed on making a RDR page, so let's hold off on that.
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsI have a suggestion for "Dear John" Letter only because it explains the concept pretty well.
Bugs: Because of the "Dear John" letter.
Lola: John? Okay, I thought his name was Edmund.
Bugs: No, it's just called a "Dear John" letter when someone ends the relationship with a note instead of face-to-face.
We typically don't change a quote unless there is a clear issue with the current one. While the suggested trope more explicitly lays out the trope's meaning, I don't see a problem with the current one. (Though admittedly, I'm super-biased, since I added it.)
I'd argue the current one is better because it doesn't explicitly lay out the trope's meaning; after all, that's what the description is for.
So, any more thoughts on the main CM fan works page quote?
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsI'm admittedly biased in favour of Barnslake.
Rawr. The quote on Creator.Robert Downey Jr comes from Iron Man rather than something RDJ said as himself; does anyone have any suggestions for the latter?

Falla Cii is my first choice, followed by The Barnslake Killer. Yzihira's right out for me—too long.
I have a suggestion for the Complete Monster: Video Games quotes from Deus Ex
- Walton Simons: This plague... the rioting is intensifying to the point where we may not be able to contain it.Bob Page: Why contain it? Let it spill over the schools and churches, let the bodies pile up in the streets. In the end they'll beg us to save them.
Isnt that already their?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."This is the page quote of Sinister Schnoz:
Apart from the fact that the attribution is lacking (it should say the name of the work where the author wrote this, not just the name of the author), this is also merely talking about a nose that is big, not of it being attached to a bad guy. The ambiguous mention of "Rome's bloody history" doesn't really help much. I guess you are supposed to regard Romans as a villainous race or something? There seems to be a logical leap from the fact of a "bloody history" (which empire doesn't have one?) to "villainy". The quote doesn't actually exemplify the trope.
Let's just say and leave it at that.Would this work for the Monster: Red Dead page?
Colm O'Driscoll: (laughs) As well you may. I've been a bad man!
I don't hate it. Also works for Card-Carrying Villain.
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsI am liking the quote honestly. It fit's very well with the trope in my eyes.

to the Red Dead quote.
So seems like the current quote is okay for Video Game Fan Works. Do we want a crowner for the main Fan Works page?
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsOkay added the Red Dead quote.
Might be a good idea.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup thread
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
~Codae We can't leave dupe quotes in any case, so I guess we just pull the quote from Slept Through the Apocalypse and leave it blank for now.
