My best friend and editor is working on his first fanfic, an MLP story about a very unusual changeling banished from his hive. Back from my five day vacation to Manhattan, which was epic beyond words. I'll be uploading pics and stuff and posting links later today.

So, um.

Turns out things kind of piled up as soon as I got back, so I've been... rather delayed in posting those pics.

Also: I've been doing some pondering lately on possibly writing a mega-crossover of all the major Magical Girl series. Primarily focusing on the Big Three (Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Madoka) uniting to stop a common threat, and with supporting roles by characters from Nanoha and the Precure franchise.

I still don't know yet if this is gonna be an actual thing or not, but it's something knocking around, at least. What do you guys think?

I'm not usually a fan of crossovers that combine too many settings — they tend to end up pretty jumbled and suffer from excessive Fridge Logic. And you'd probably need something more compelling and original than "uniting to stop a common threat" if you want to avoid it falling into the "your favorite characters work together and make token references to their respective series" cliche.

Given the quality of your past work, I'm sure it'd be fun to read regardless, but I'd be more excited if it didn't sound so much like the standard mega-crossover premise. (Of course, if you make it sufficiently grimdark, I'll view it much more favorably. )

Some questions: Which setting's cosmology will you use? If it's a combination, how do you resolve the contradictions and Fridge Logic? What's the general idea of the big threat (if you can say without spoilers)? How will you deal with the inevitable fallout of the Incubators becoming aware of other magical beings and vice versa? How will each character substantively contribute to the story beyond being shout-outs to their respective series?

To be clear, I'm not opposed to the idea, and if you'd enjoy writing it, go for it — I'll definitely read it.

Like I said, this is in very vague semi-development at the moment, so I don't have much.

Anyway, it would probably be based off of an ultimately scrapped group RP plot I had for a while on Tumblr. I was thinking of the catalyst for the crossover being our good friend Joker. Considering he's Complete Monster enough in canon to serve as a villain in other, darker magical girl shows, I thought he'd make a fine adversary. In the plans for the RP, he discovered the existence of Chaos and allied himself with it, and then set about trying to corrupt and control every magical girl in every universe, with his final goal being to nab the Big Three: Sakura, Sailor Cosmos, and Ultimate Madoka.

Again, keep in mind that I'm just throwing around ideas at this point. The RP never went anywhere due to DRAMA, but I thought I might salvage at least a little of it.

S'good that you use those seeds to grow another story, and since you're writing it, there could be no drama outside of it.

Another idea, spoilered just in case anyone would rather be surprised:

Through Chaos, Joker learns about the multiverse and the existence of the many different kinds of magical girls... but it's only after he gains control of one specific target that he gains the ability to travel from universe to universe: Sailor Pluto. As she's the eternal Guardian of the Space-Time Door, I figure if Pluto were corrupted, every other time and universe would be fair game.

Nope! As difficult as this may be to believe, my OTP will not be a part of this story... though you may find it has a few elements in common with SA.

I'm not surprised you didn't recognize the two hearts symbol, though. Like I said in the other thread, I had to improvise that one.

Are you still planning to finish Pioneer? It looked interesting from the first chapter, but it's been over a year and a half since the last update.

I will someday. I know I've said that a lot, but I really do intend to finish. I just need to get back in the proper frame of mind...

Now that that's finally done, I'm gonna spend the rest of the week working on SS... and Pioneer, if I can.

Chapter 3 of SS is about 2/3rds done. After it's finished and posted, I'm planning to do a quick reread of Kazumi, then I'll try to pick up Pioneer.
