I've just realized that "Nakama" has been changed into True Companions...
~cries tears of happiness~
It what
This is a cause for celebration. Mead for everyone! Or at least mead for everyone who has mead in their house or has cash to buy mead!
Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-Mead at 0604 after being up since 0900 yesterday may be...unwise.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'It might help you sleep, though.
Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-I've got to get the train home in an hour!
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Ah. Yeah, that may not be a great idea then. Pity. Perhaps a toast of some sort of caffeinated beverage?
Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-Yes. A big mug of neat caffeine. That should keep me going until the end of the shift.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Did that Mukosusekikikiki or whatever (Japanese People are White in Anime) thing ever get renamed?
Troper PageNope. But Mukokuseki is a more Japanese-exclusive trope, so there may be some inclination to keep it as it is for now.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.I now want to hear a thick-accented Scottish person throwing some Gratuitous Japanese into everyday chatter. That would be trippy, dude.

And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)We got rid of Nakama?
About time.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerA lot of people who are interested in a particular culture will pick up some of their language/colloquialisms. An American interested in British culture might start saying "lift" instead of "elevator," someone interested in French culture might start saying "avec" instead of "with," and someone who isn't Japanese might start using Japanese honorifics. It only gets annoying when it's a constant thing.
Well excuuuuuuse me, Princess!the desu meme shall be remembered
badly
Or a non-Southern person might start saying "y'all".
What the crap does "desu" even mean?
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Ιt's the Japanese verb 'to be'.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - Fighteer...in that case, that makes about as much sense as the word "the" becoming a meme.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Japanese sentences usually require the verb at the end of a sentence. Desu is also used in some of the most polite forms of speech, so it's the word the average weeaboo hears most. Hence, SPAM AD NAUSEUM.
Its use is redundant anyway.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation....okay, it's funnier than I thought, but still very >_<
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. My username on a lot of websites is "Night-san." Night being my fursona's name; a long time ago I used to administrate an RP forum, and some of the more weeaboo of the kids on there took to adding the "-san." Changed my username to "Night-san" for the heck of it, and it sorta stuck. Some of my irl friends started calling me that too, even though they moved out of the weeaboo phase years and years ago. Didn't think much of it until rather recently; I just use the name out of habit. I'm trying to move away from it now, though- partly because many sites don't allow "Night-san" as a username, partly because I don't want the honorific tacked on. I'm starting to go with "Ventisia" more often now, like on here; it's not my fursona, it's another one of my characters, but it's a unique username on most sites, so it works.
@odd1 "The" would be a meme, too, if a famous person or something said "the-the-the-the".
Now using Trivialis handle.
I'm not Japanese. I don't speak Japanese. I'm not in Japan.
So I never use them. That would just be sad.
