At the very least this page needs to be classified as Flame Bait, especially since Hatedom is classified as that. Potholes are not the only problem here, Hate Dumb entries on the YMMV pages are also fairly common, and full of unspecific useless complaining. Same with Fan Dumb entries. If we classify those pages as Flame Bait maybe people would stop adding entries. I don't know how much consensus or discussion we need to classify something as Flame Bait, since we don't have a good system for that, but this is something that needs to be done.
The perils of being a page for bitchfests.
The page is fine as is. We should be worrying about other topics and pages.
Agreed; Hate Dumb is meant to inform readers of the stupid FanHaters and the like who dislike certain works for incredibly retarded reasons. There are other tropes that have derailed considerably over time, but this page is relatively faithful to it's original vision.
"I swear nearly every discussion I go to everyone wants to immediately cut them."
That seems like a sign that they should be cut.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Could be less wordy about it though.
Or a sign that some leap to cutting as a first resort, which is not cool, no matter how valid or invalid a page is.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I admit the page is long, but man is it fun for binging :P
Seriously though, I like it the way it is. If you can find any useless fluff that serves absolutely no purpose to the page, post an example.
It's not so much fluff as some points being stated in more words than they need to be.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Welcome to TRS and their obsession with cutting everything.
Did you see the comment I was pointing to?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Uh, yeah. I was joking.
Oh, okay then.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid."Stealth Fans:' These are not truly haters, but rather fans, who appeal to the large Hatedom of their object of obsession in order to spread the word. They will derail every thread, come up with the lamest of jokes and in general, will do anything to put the alleged object of their hate into the center of attention. Fan Haters will generally take the bait, and what was before a previously completely unrelated topic, will now be derailed into a discussion over how horrible that certain thing is. Not only does the corporate world love these guys, many of them are actually corporate agents themselves, actively involved in viral marketing."
Does that actually happen?

Have you ever seen a Twilight thread derail? :P
But yeah, it does happen. Takes some really retarded noob to pull it off, though. We're talking first day on the internet kind of guys here.

It's still ridiculously wordy and a wall of text. For the record, I've never managed to reach the bottom, while I like this page. So, chainsaw the description of those types.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI guess the entries can be trimmed a little. Just so long as they aren't shortened to one-liners, i'm happy.
Agree wholeheartedly.
Please join these multinational petitions against ACTA. Sign up now. Every voice counts.Bump. Took a look at Fan Dumb...that can be trimmed as well. Or just merge the two since they're essentially the same concept.

Ah....I mean the potholes on the Hate Dumb page, not Hate Dumb being potholed.
