This is the fun side of the forums, where all of the games are! These games aren't like the Roleplaying threads: no sign-ups necessary. You can just jump in, but reading the OP first is probably a good idea.

Just like any other part of the forum, you've got to follow the overall forum rules. Also, you should read the the Forum Games-specific rules. They're easy to follow, trust me.

The biggest rule here is to not be a dick. I really mean it. If you're in one of the quasi-RP'ing threads, one of the guessing threads, or anywhere, just remember to be nice. If you're nice to other people, they'll be nice to you.

Now, I bet you'd like some recommendations, right? Of course you do!

• Our avatars are in a room together is where to go if you want to just have fun and act like your avatar would. There's no rhyme nor reason to any of it, except to have fun.
• Ask the next poster a question is where to go if you have some random, silly question (or not so silly, it depends!) to ask people. Want to know if any tropers like to eat waffles covered in peanut butter? Ask away!
• Pick the cutest avatar in the above gallery is just that: Picking the cutest avatar in the above poster's gallery. The gallery is the little group of picture frames at the top of a post. If you have a cute avatar you want to show off, or you know someone has a cute avatar and want to let everyone know, come here.
• Enter the Arena As Your Avatar (v4) is the place to be if you want to show off how awesomely powerful your avatar is. Do you have an avatar from your favorite book/game/movie and you want to see how they stack up against other people's? This is seriously the place to be. In this thread, it might be a good idea to read the OP first, though.
• If you don't see any games that you like, you can always make your own!

Looking through your recent posts, I can't immediately see any in that forum and the mods will check your history there. However, if you'd like to apply then write up a New Media welcome PM draft (though the mods may be a while in looking at it).

I think that the timetables of lu127 and shimaspawn (the moderators who do most of the work here) don't allow them to do much here. Maybe we need some other moderators to weigh in.

So, three people jockeying for Forum Games now. This is interesting.

From what I've seen, Panctice is banned now, so he's out of the running for the multiple areas he applied for.

Does that mean I'm the only person left with an application for Forum Games?

Yeah... lu has been busy for a long-ass time, so the applications have been in review for a while. Especially now since the site borked out. It will probably be a few more months before we hear anything on this.

Also, this kind of feels like a nitpick (really sorry!), but I think it needs to be said: as the GM of the Avatars in a Room thread (GM in the sense that I boot out troublemakers and settle arguments, not that I dictate what happens), I would like to point out that there is a fair bit of rhyme and reason in the thread, and one of the issues that we often have is telling new people that join that no, they cannot turn this thread into a fetish roleplay where we all talk about how sexy D-cup anthro-lizard breasts are, or try to start their own plot where we infiltrate a castle and take down an empire, or randomly shitpost and expect us to respond.

The only reason I'm bringing it up is that at one point this was a really serious problem, to the point where we sort of "screen" people now to make sure they're not someone we kicked out coming back under a new username.

And yes, all of the above has happened before, multiple times.

Sorry if I am overreacting, but yeah... kind of a touchy issue for me.

Ah. Well, the other applicants would probably be better for the job, so I'd just like to run for New Media, thank you. ^_^

I changed class to Necromancer (partly to get the ball rolling on herald applications again, and partly because I have a question).

While I can understand using an auto-generating tool to list the forums that don't have a herald yet (see here), I really don't think listing the mod-only forum there is a good idea. Would it be possible to have it removed from that list? (I know Eddie would have to do it.)

I do not see the point of having a herald for the mod forum because new moderators are rarely ever chosen anyway.

It's not like the existence of the mod forum is a secret. Nobody who is not a mod can access it, so having it listed somewhere is moot.
