Weblinks Are Not Examples

Not Always Right and its subpages are probably the worst example of this i've ever seen. Around half of the examples on the page and its subpages are just links to stories on said website.

I remember doing a bunch of elaboration of Not Always Right examples. Not sure what page it was, but it's really not that hard, since all examples are self-contained. "Just" takes time and effort.

You guys should check out the examples listed in the page Mag Isa. Just about every single example has a link to a part of the webcomic. I know some people are trying to promote it, but this is ridiculous! <Dismayed>

There's nothing wrong with having a link. The problem is when the link is used instead of describing the trope. Every example having a link is not a problem, as long as there's a meaningful description to go along with each one.

(This just to be clear—I haven't actually looked at the mentioned page.)

Bash Org. Pretty much every single example. I don't have time to get to it now.

Chiaroscuro, nearly all, if not all, examples from webcomics. Would you consider checking it and writing something up? I'll try to do something myself, but I don't read webcomics that much.

The vast majority of examples on Literal Music Video are just You Tube links. Someone should fix this.

Funny.Advertising is full of weblinks without context.

Lot of wicks in Webcomic.Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal. I'm a fan of this webcomics, so I might get to that and gradually work on improving it, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Cyanide And Happiness webcomic needs a lot of explaining. Virtually every trope mentioned links to a page (not the problem), but over half of them don't do much beyond that (the problem).

Could someone please rewrite the Kick-Ass example on Narrative Backpedaling so that it doesn't depend on a You Tube link?

The awesome music page for pro wrestling is crammed with broken youtube links. I'd do more than what I've done so far, but it's 4am.

Advertising is full of this. I've done some of them, but it's too much for a single person.

Looks like this thread doesn't get a lot of traffic. Ode to Sobriety is 90% songnames linked to youtube, the artist and that's it. I thought I'd drop in here before I commented out the majority of that article.

Funny.Game Grumps Arin And Danny 2 has a lot of ZCEs that are just timestamped moments in their episodes. Some of the other Funny pages might have this problem too, but I noticed it the most here.

Most of the Nightmare Fuel examples for Brawl In The Family are sentence-long weblinks without additional context written.

Much like the Not Always Right examples, Not Always Romantic has a lot of examples that rely on links even though the description outright says some of them might not work anymore. Some of them have context that is relegated to the page note.

Since this thread is basically dead, can we give it a new name to give it more attention

I'm pretty sure that'd only confuse people.

Anyway, if it's dead, just let it be dead.

For an actual issue. There are many dead links in the Soundtrack Dissonance subpages that are in need of removal, we will start cleaning up in alphabetical order,

Not necessarily? This is the sort of issue that doesn't really need a specialized cleanup thread (the ZCE one already covers it) and judging by the fact that it died out immediately, it's probably just not worth trying to bump for the sake of bumping it. There's no point in trying to salvage a thread just because.
