And that's where doujin come from, Little Billy.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Alternatively,it's an Arranged Marriage by Mother_In_Law_3.
Which is another place Doujins come from Lil Billy, but those are a bit ugly.
Secret SignatureChapter. How the hell can Onodera not know who Chitoge is talking about, at least? She only really has one male friend plus Shuu. Didn't the story even point that out?
They're all idiots relationship wise.I thought that was pretty obvious.
Secret SignatureYeah, but this goes beyond that. Chitoge is dumb for not noticing who Onodera likes, but Onodera must be regularly outwitted by household appliances if she can't figure out that Chitoge's only male friend calling her his best friend kind of narrows down his identity to one person.
I didn't even know that Chitoge and Onodera didn't know the other liked Raku. Huh.
Ruri and Haru know Onodera like Raku. Tsugumi knows Chitoge likes Raku, but for the wrong reasons. Paula knows Tsugumi likes Raku. Everyone knows Marika likes Raku, even him. Onodera knows Yui likes Raku and I think Chitoge might too? Not sure. Other than that, everyone is basically completely in the dark about everyone else, setting aside Shuu for the moment.
I thought everyone knew about Yui's affections.
Except for Tsugumi, cause she's out of the loop in general, and Raku, cause he's a high gravity zone.
Secret SignatureThey're worried, but they don't know. Except I think Yui told Onedera directly. I don't remember that incident very well. I guess that's still a step above the norm.
Actually, She told Chitoge that.
Wow...its not enough that the MC is Oblivious to Love, but everyone is...its...amazing.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Oh, I think Yui told Chitoge and Onodera and Ruri overheard. I was originally thinking it was Chitoge telling someone that two two overheard.
At this point I'm starting to wonder how the hell do people reproduce in this universe.
I thought we've established the adults are awesome and the kids...yeah.
Their density reaches critical mass and they stick to each other till that happens.
Secret SignatureChapter.
Raku guarding his lost chastity from the menaces that took it from him last year.Plus two.
Also Paula losing her ability to be married.
Secret SignatureDat thousand yard stare...
She needs a freaking drink?
Secret SignatureI'm currently reading this (just read volume 5), but I just have one questionβ¦
"Sogen made wasuretotto ka?!! Nande sogen made wasureyoru to ka!! Kocchi wa jūnen omoitsudzukete, nanchakacha hitotsu mo nokoran koto oboetorunniβ¦!! Rakkun ga, kami ba nagai onna no ko rashika ko ga suki iiyoru kenβ¦ Kami ba nobashiteβ¦ Kotobadzukai mo naoshiteβ¦ Ganbatte kawariyotta baiβ¦!! Rakkun wa zenbu wasureta de sumaseyoru ki kaaa!!"
β¦ what the hell is Marika's dialect supposed to be? I've never heard that one before.
Kansai-ben, I believe.
As for the most recent chapter, the horror movie vibe was more visible this time, I think, especially with Tsugumi.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise. That's not kansai-ben, no⦠or if it is, it's a very, very unusual version.
Embarassed Kansai Ben.
Secret SignatureHum⦠so a quick review after 7 volumes.
The first 3-4 volumes are quite irritating. Raku and Chitoge's squabbles got old quickly and I felt like slapping the guy every time he went in "wait I don't have the right to find this girl cute I love only Onodera" mode. Finding a member of the opposite sex (or same sex) physically attractive isn't forbidden, Raku, even if it's not your one-and-only-loveΒ©. I couldn't manage to really like any characters outside of Shū and Ruri.
Then volume 5 marks a significant improvement. The annoying aspects (notably the one mentionned above) are toned down, Chitoge and Raku become somewhat more relatable, there is a bit progression, and while it uses the Mother of all romcom clichΓ©s (the Romeo & Juliette play going awry), the lead-up to and conclusion of the scene are quite effective. The timing for Chitoge's Love Epiphany was good. Some gags work well (love the reaction faces) and I liked the mini-arc with Chitoge's mom. The multiple fake cliff-hangers with Kosaki are getting slightly annoying though.
As I said, my favorite characters by a rather long shot are Shū and Ruri; He's so good at provoking her retaliation that I'm pretty sure he's doing it on purpose at this point − aaand the chapter with Ruri's glasses more or less confirms this. It seems your myopia isn't only physical, Ruri-chan. =3
Still, something that ticks me off is the⦠sexism? Not sure it's the right term, but the dialogues are littered with remarks like "you're a man, you should do this" or "you're a girl, be more feminine" or "a boy/girl is/isn't supposed to act like that". That's why I couldn't help but cringe during Tsugumi's introduction for example. Well, to the series' credit, it doesn't use sexual fanservice, or very little.
PS: After 173 chapters, has Claude noticed that the boy he had raised and trained had an E cup?
PS2: In the popularity pollβ¦ "thanks to Y-san, who sent 1500 votes for Marika"β¦ I justβ¦ —'.`—
