Does anyone else read Pokemon Transformation stories? There's a lot of good ones out there and I even wrote a few of my own, called https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12352668/1/Changes "Changes"]] and "Changes Part II".
They're about three brothers, who because of a virus gradually transform into a Raichu, Pikachu, and Pichu. It deals with how they adjust to these new forms.

Just another day in the life of Jimmy NutrinI've been working on a Super Fic set in a region I'm making up, in which an Intrepid Reporter assembles a team of superheroes to keep the legendary Pokemon from bringing The End of the World as We Know It. I need some advice, though:
- I know what IRL location my region will be based on, and the general feel of the place, but I can't figure out the spacing. The number of towns and other significant locations varies a lot between canon regions, which makes them difficult to use as a reference point. Any tips on how I can figure this out for myself?
- While the fic mainly revolves around Original Characters, there are also a few canon characters involved. Any tips for keeping the canon characters from overshadowing the OCs?
- I want to subvert the reader's expectations. Problem is, when Sun and Moon tried that, everyone saw it coming from a mile away. How can I avoid the same pitfalls?
- I've thought a bit about the implications of Differently Powered Individuals existing in the Pokemon universe. Obviously, there'd be supers fighting alongside their Pokemon note , and, because this is a world where serious threats are regularly stopped by some kid in their pre/early teens with minimal assistance, the situation would have to be pretty dire to justify the need for superheroes. Less obviously, a super's Pokemon team might be identifiable even in their civilian persona. note The ones who mix up their teams a lot, or simply don't have a Secret Identity, don't have to worry about this so much. Is there anything else I should consider?

@ Zelenal Funnily enough a fic sort of like that was the very first fanfic I ever read back before I even knew what fanfic was.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobHuh. I'll check it out later. Although a quick glance reveals is uses the "Pokespeach" (Translation) thing which I really don't like.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!
Oh shit! It's the retelling of Pokemon Colosseum! I remember reading this on the fan fiction section of the Serebii.Net forums.
...It was a silly tale, but I found it fun at the time. I also can't say if it'd be as good as it was back then.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah, I skimmed it a bit and I think I'll pass. A humorous retelling wouldn't really be doing the story justice, I feel.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Same place I first read it because of a link in the authors signature. That was why I didn't know it was fanfic at first.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobHas anyone actually seen used in a SM fic?
Off the fanon page:
- The protagonist's mother is a single mother. (...) Some fans headcanon that she divorced or outright left her husband because he was abusive to her and their child.
I've skimmed over Ao3 and FF but found zip. The closest I've found is the protagonist's dad having died years ago.
I don't even know why anyone would think that's the reason other than to be edgy. After all, only one Pokemon protag actually has a known father, to my knowledge.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! After over a year, I've finally stopped being a lazy ass and have finished Chapter 2 of my Pokemon fic. As you may notice, the title has been changed to "The Ties that Bind" and the summary has been changed to this:
The bonds we forge with others is what dictates our future and the more powerful the bond, the greater the influence it has. As we try to navigate this maze of relationships called life, all we can do is cling to these bonds and pray for a happy ending. Sara Sommerlade is no different as she is bound by her past to a future that is fraught with peril. Together with her Torchic, she must forge new bonds to survive the oncoming storm and discover just how strong, and how fragile, her bonds are.
I really hate how limiting FF.net is so I highly recommend that you read it on AO3.
As you might notice on AO3, I actually have the total number of chapters planned out (32) so, in theory, I should be able to get the chapters out much faster. In practice, I make no promises.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Chapters 3 and 4 of my story are up. Chapter 3 went up a while ago and Chapter 4 a few days ago but I've been having a bit of a situation with my Internet (still am) so I didn't post about them here. My plan is to update every other Wednesday, though.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! This fic is short but it's really good.

team rocket is human nature.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Chapter 5 of "The Ties that Bind" is now available for your perusal.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I've started a project where the protagonist is a newly-recruited member of Team Rocket. Very Punch-Clock Villain-esque.
That's really well-written so far! Gastly the Pokemon is spelled minus the H but that's the only quibble I found ^^ I'm with the Cosmo/gastly/celadon people!

The Protomen enhanced my life.I'll be sure to fix the spelling error in the OP and in future posts.
I don't always double post. But when I do, it's usually because I updated.
Nice update! :D
EDIT: I had an idea just now: Given how much the world of Pokemon increasingly relies on Pokemon for tasks, how would the world adjust to all the Pokemon disappearing or dying, IE 'the Ultimate Weapon was semi-successful' or something?

The Protomen enhanced my life."With great difficulty", I expect.
Has anyone here read my story? The next update comes tomorrow. I probably won't be able to post a notice of it, though, since my Internet situation is still very much unreliable.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!To this point, I haven't been, but I'll go ahead and give it a look once I get a chance.
So, from an in-universe perspective, I imagine there must be a sort of "cooldown" effect to Z-Crystals to explain the lack of spamming Z-moves. That makes sense, right?
I'm mostly in an RP with a Mystery Dungeon-esque setting, so I've been giving a lot of thought lately to how things would work in terms of world building.
If I were to use them, my explanation would be that Z-Moves consume life energy (ki, chakra, whatever you want to call it) and thus how many you can use depends on how much life energy you and your Pokemon possess. I'd also probably say that Z-Moves take less energy the more they're used as the Trainer and Pokemon get used to the move and stop waisting energy using it.

"I am the table!"
My idea was for a story where Pokemon start appearing in the "real" world, and generally wrecking shit up. The premise is this:
Long ago, there was once a Pokemon that wished to be the most powerful of all, even stronger than Arceus itself. So it went to Jirachi, the wish-granting Pokemon, in hopes of having its wish for power granted. But Jirachi refused to grant such a blasphemous request, and instead turned the Pokemon into a shapeless, hideous Eldritch Abomination which it then cast into the void between the dimensions. This creature became known as Missing No, and it existed as a phantom—seldom glimpsed, often rumored.
In present-day New York City, six ordinary kids—Marlon, Rosalie, Terrence, Kevin, Christine, and Sean— are playing Pokemon GO in Central Park when they discover a mysterious doorway leading to the world of Pokemon. Upon entering it, they learn a scientist there that these doorways are popping up all around the world (often in places where Pokemon GO Poke-stops are located, for some reason), and Missing No is thought to be behind their creation. They each receive starter Pokemon of their own, becoming trainers themselves. Unfortunately, the only way for them to stop Missing No from entering the "real" world is to once again summon Jirachi and use its wish-granting powers to send Missing No back. This turns out to be harder than expected.
Enter Lugia. Lugia is actually a Knight Templar antagonist in this story; it believes that Legendary Pokemon should never serve humans no matter how dire the situation. So when it finds out that the kids are trying to use Jirachi to stop Missing No it sends its underlings—the three Legendary Birds—to keep them from doing it, even if it means destroying the "real" world. Luckily, the kids do have other allies— Ho-oh, who ends up battling Lugia (speaking of which, why hasn't this happened in the movies yet?).
So with their cover blown and the reality of Pokemon exposed for all to see, the kids have their work cut out for them to summon Jirachi and stop Missing No before it's too late.
