Not having read it, I can say with near-certainty that it's not going to be near the same level of quality. But if you want to, sure.

Shinigan (Naruto fanfic)I'd say it's worth the read. Is it the best fanfiction out there? No. But it manages to be interesting, which is more than I can say about a lot of fics.
Belief or disbelief rests with you.We just got another piece of A Peccatis on the DAYD LJ page. Introduced a surprise new OC, indicated Justin Finch-Fletchley is up to something with the Muggle world, lots of talk talk talk and not much really happening. He's still stalling.
I am starting to get Countdown To Final Crisis vibes from A Peccatis...
He is really killing people off, there's the badly done mystery elements, the verse seems to be going crazy...

Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Too right, Nick. We just got a spate of updates that shred what's left of canon, burn the pieces to ash, and dump the ashes in the loo.
If there's such a thing as a Dark Crack Fic, that's what this has become.

...If the Big Bad appears reclining on Hermione's couch, I am going to be laughing my ass off.
So, what, exactly, happened?
How bad is it getting, as in who died and how was continuity shredded? Is he going anywhere with this mystery?
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Mass murder attack (by one person, on at least four) at Hogwarts. One victim was explicitly name-checked in JKR's Epilogue as alive and well at that time - which means one of three things: Only Mostly Dead, Reset Button, or He Just Didn't Care.
I don't think it's Reset Button this time - he already did that in Sluagh.
Hermione apparently knows or suspects who's doing it, and has been trying to catch the killer - but this tends to put her right on the scene at the worst possible time. So she's just been busted as Suspect Number One.
I happen to know who the killer is supposed to be (not Hermione, of course), and the culprit has scarcely even been mentioned and I'm not sure they made an on-page appearance. I really don't think that's playing fair with the reader.
Then do share your suspicion.
I just want to get this mystery done, so I can figure out what kind of trope came into play about said person.
By now, I just count the characters as separate from Rowling's versions. Almost at Dark Fic AU Crack Fic. It could've been done well. But instead, the author tried to do Countdown a little better, and failed almost as badly.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP....the idea that simply doing Countdown a little better would ever be sufficient baffles me.
Nous restons ici.All right. The "Nevermore" killer is supposed to be Elphias Doge, and his motivation is presumably to preserve the "purity" of Dumbledore's memory. I'm not sure, but I think this character appeared in the background in like one scene, with either no lines or a very few words. He's also supposed to be dead, but apparently Aberforth wasn't the only one Faking the Dead.
Hagrid was explicitly mentioned as still alive and well in JKR's Epilogue, so unless he is Only Mostly Dead, it's another flagrant Canon Defilement.
Arthur Weasley was name-checked in the Epilogue too, but with wording that could be construed as ambiguous ("Grandpa Weasley would never forgive you if you married a pureblood") - so Than felt free to kill him off. That's about when I realized the wheels were coming off and this thing was careening downhill with no brakes.
Just checked the Daydverse site, and Thanfiction has posted a long apologia for writing DAYD in a quasi-JKR'ish style instead of his own. Earth to Than: if you'd done that, you wouldn't have been able to build yet another cult on the ashes of past disasters. People would have peeked, gone "Ewww!", and moved on to someone else's fanfic.
As a general rule, long apologias tend to make the writer come off as a Jerkass. This one is no exception. (Of course, Thanfiction IS a Jerkass - and worse - so it's Truth in Television. But really, showing it so publicly?)
...and A Peccatis has remained stalled, while Thanfiction moves on into "Supernatural" (the TV show) fandom. Guess he's never going to finish it now.
Probably just as well.

Given how dysfunctional his universe is, and A Peccatis being basically Countdown To Final Crisis...
Can he make a verse as messed up and weird as Supernatural any worse?
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.It's now a year and a half later, and there have been no further installments of A Peccatis, despite occasional noise about how he was still "working on it".
Probably just as well, considering how thoroughly Crucio'd the official Canon had already been.
I have taken the liberty of labeling A Peccatis a Dead Fic, and posting a spoiler for how it was supposed to end as a sub-item under "Yank the Dog's Chain". https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FanFic/DumbledoresArmyAndTheYearOfDarkness. It's tagged "The Dog Was the Mastermind".

This is what I found too. Although I would also suggest that bad writing does come into play a lot.
And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)
