I imagine after how disappointing Crystal turned out to be, a lot of people are.
...what's it about by the way?
One Strip! One Strip!A musical about Stars before an animated movie about Dream? Will Viz get SuperS dubbed before the new movies come out?!
For me frankly, the Musicals are pretty much everything Crystal should have been and more. Heck, they managed to make the Inner/Shitennou stuff work decently.
Despite being shorter, they manage to somehow pack in more substance and characterization. Blending material from various continuities to create something fresh but familiar. As well as good mix of humor and drama.
Oh yes, and a fair number of catchy songs.
I was watching an episode of the Toei Yu-Gi-oh anime from 1998 and saw an extra that looked like Sailor Neptune.
This happened. https://rycien.tumblr.com/post/166332992684
The Protomen enhanced my life.Heh, that reminded me of this one fanfic that crossed over Sailor Moon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Ranma 1/2 and Ronin Warriors, with Usagi and Yugi (who in-story had merged with Atem after the Memory World ordeal, i.e. no "Atem must be defeated by Yugi so he could pass on to the world of the dead"). It had blatant Character Derailment on the Sailor Moon and Ranma 1/2 sides, though; you know, the usual "Mamoru/Darien is an irredeemable scumbag" deal, plus the "everyone in Nerima but Ranma and a handful of favorite characters (including Nabiki, who had never been a heartless bitch that only cared about her personal gain) are hypocritical assholes" thing.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Agreed, Kingcod.
I don't know how many people watch Dragonball Super, but the current arc has a blatant Sailor Moon/Precure reference/parody in the form of the Kamikaze Fireballs. Pretty amusing spotting all the callbacks, like the 'get a hold of yourself' moment in the recent episode.
On the subject of pairings, I seem to be in the minority that quite likes Ami and Rei. I always thought they had a good dynamic together. Especially in the early part of the classic season when they were just a trio. Even the horror that was Crystal S1 gave them a few nice but (sadly) brief moments. In particular the fourth episode where they play arcade games together, and then later pair off at the party. And you've got that whole fire/water, red/blue, hot/cold thing going on.

Plus they just look adorable. Ami/Makoto sort of works I guess, the chemistry is there. But Minako/Rei on the other hand just baffles me.
Like I said before, Minako/Rei is probably at least partly based on their Sailor Senshi namesakes being named after Greek gods that were lovers. Another possible factor, if we're considering the versions from the '90s anime (which IINM had been the most widely known iteration of Sailor Moon among the Western fandom for many yearsnote ), is that Rei works well as the straight woman to Minako.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Oh wow, I just realized that Sailor Moon Crystal is still streaming new dubbed episodes, at least for this month! Season III starts here. Hmm, no translated credits this time? But the dub adds in the TV sponsor cards once again for whatever reason.
I love Christie's Mistress 9. Glad to hear that va get some different range.
Mileena MadnessSo... Two questions on my mind:
- How come there are two active subreddits for this franchise? [1] [2]
- Would it be far-fetched to depict a Queen Saturn (be it a far-future Hotaru Tomoe or her past life's hypothetical mother who may or may not have been a Queen on par with Queen Serenity of the Moon) as being so destructively powerful that she qualifies as a full-fledged Destroyer Deity on par with Dragon Ball Super's Gods of Destruction?
So this is a very weird question to ask but, does anyone know where I can find some Queen Serenity X Ikuna Tsukino fanart?
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Isnt it Ikuko Tsukino?
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Ah, thank you, my apologies. does anyone know where I can find some Queen Serenity X Ikuko Tsukino fanart?
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests. Is there any news about any re-dubs of the other two movies?
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.There's barely any fan art of either one of those characters to begin with. And no, I've never seen any featuring them together.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. So, what did happen to Usagi's family?
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.What do you mean?
One Strip! One Strip!I don't think either the manga nor either one of the two anime series (the 90's one and Crystal) ever says anything about whether or not they're still around in Crystal Tokyo, if that's what you're asking. It's one of those things that's left up for the fans' imaginations to decide.
Presumably they died before Neo Crystal Tokyo times.
Oissu!I think they still might be alive, depending on which version is being discussed. In the manga (and probably Crystal, too, since it mostly follows the manga storyline), it's mentioned that everyone in Crystal Tokyo (and the world?) was given the same long lifespan that the Sailor Senshi have, so I would guess that the same would extend to Usagi's family. In this scenario, my guess is that they would be living in luxury as relatives of Neo-Queen Serenity.
The 90's anime is more ambiguous, though, because we don't know exactly what happened when Neo-Queen Serenity revived and used her powers to end the Deep Freeze, nor exactly when the Deep Freeze started in the first place (or if it does say, I don't remember exactly what was said, although I'm pretty sure it's stated that the Deep Freeze ended sometime close to the beginning of the 30th century, eliminating the "Chibi-Usa is 900 years old" plot point). If it occurred in the early 21st century (as in, around now), and if everyone on Earth was revived when it ended, then Usagi's family would probably be living in Crystal Tokyo in a scenario similar to what I mentioned about the manga. If it occurred later and/or if Neo-Queen Serenity was not able to revive everyone, there's the possibility that Usagi's parents would be dead from old age (although Shingo might still be around) or unable to be brought back to life.
There's also the musicals and PGSM, but Crystal Tokyo is never mentioned in PGSM and I don't know enough about the musicals to answer about what happens with Crystal Tokyo in them.

After a while, her mom, dad, and younger brother sort of just vanished.
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Ikuko does appear in Stars a few times, but the last we see of Shingo (and maybe Kenji) is in Super S.
What's the source for this section from Sailor Fuku?
