I think so. Also, the page could use a clean up.
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoI'd restrict it to in-universe examples, but I think those are common enough that it should be a subtrope of Stylistic Suck.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. But then what would the example from Not Always Right fall into?
That's me.sure why not
also bump
What the heck are you bumping for? The previous post wasn't even half an hour ago!
That's me.I don't think the definition should be restricted to in universe.
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoI don't know... I think, for example, citing it on a fanfic with bad spelling (like My Immortal) is just snarking for the sake of snark, which dances the line of mean-spiritedness. Besides, in cases like that, it is Trivia more than anything else.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Okay, but what about the cases when the error gets lampshaded?
That's me.That's legitimate In-Universe.
Fight smart, not fair.Maybe there should be a page split between intentional and unintentional examples.
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoAren't unintentional/unlampshaded examples just low work quality? "Spelling error" is Not A Trope. I'm for leaving it but restricting it to in-universe examples.

Fight smart, not fair.Thirding. Unless they're used intentionally, spelling errors aren't something the author put in the work for a purpose.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk Birdnthing the in-universe suggestion. Seems like the only reasonable option to me.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Agreed with in-universe only, no split.
Looks like the consensus is for in-universe only examples. Shall we nuke the current examples list and run it back through YKTTW?
No, let's just go through the page and cut out everything that doesn't fit.
That's me.By my estimation that'd be at least 90% of it.
I've done worse, got work though.
Fight smart, not fair.Done. Not as many as I'd thought. Wicks still need looking at, and description could use a tweak.
Thank you!
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdThe bit about duck/duct tape (in the Other Mistakes section) is nattery and argues with itself. Since even historians aren't completely certain (according to the Other Wiki), I think the entry should go. Any disagreement?
In fact, the whole Other Mistakes section looks like it could use some pruning and de-natterfying. I hesitate to do so myself, because, as a descriptivist, I'd be too tempted to wield a chainsaw instead of a scalpel.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. All right, so the Commonly Misspelled folder is just a list of word pairs and what the difference is between each spelling.
It's still an important tool. (So that aspiring writers know the difference.)
Therefore, the contents of that folder should be relocated to the Useful Notes Name Space, as it is a series of notes useful to aspiring writers.

Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.I think both the Commonly Misspelled folder and most if not all of the Other Mistakes folder could be merged with The Big List of Booboos and Blunders into a Useful Notes page. The most practical method would probably be to create a sandbox and make a special efforts thread, to get examples moved (and cleaned/pruned, if necessary). Or move The Big List to the Useful Notes namespace (which is where it probably should be anyway) and merge this page's lists in. I'd volunteer, but I'm already involved in a few other projects and don't really have more time I can dedicate to this.
Rouge Angles of Satin, while objective and often worth mentioning, doesn't have any bearing on the plot and isn't used intentionally (and if it was, it would be Stylistic Suck or Inherited Illiteracy Title). Should it be considered trivia instead of a trope?
