I was merely being cautious because of its the fic's legendary status; personally I don't like it a whole lot either.

While the fic has an advantage of being actually completed, Unfamiliar is far more complex, overflows with originality, faster paced, and at least in my opinion, all around more entertaining.

Again, I highly recommend it. waii

Well, since Hills basically made Zn T crossovers mainstream (if I'm using the term right) not to mention it has good writing, of course it's gonna be considered legendary.

Too bad the author of Zn T is no longer with us sad At least we got the anime endings.

Anytime, 'tis fun stating such things for the lulz sometimes.

But still, I'm kinda serious on making a story where either Jetstream Sam or Raiden being summoned by Louise. Any advices?

Unfamiliar = greatness.

Haven't read the Emiya, Ezio, or Bioshock fics.

Just had a thought where Louise summons Gai Daigouji.

stranger: Read a fic where Revengeance!Raiden was summoned by Tiffania. Didn't think it was all that great.

Zero Shock is very unique in the fact that the summoned's side keeps trying to get in contact with the summoned. The major plot is about Jack in Tristian (or whatever), while there is another plot of the Rapture trying to contact Jack. I wish there are more fics who take this kind of approach, really.

Eva, I just read the fic you mentioned. It was before the game and the story was released, so of course it wouldn't be on par with canon and stuff.

Roy, as great a concept it is, if someone else do that, the possibility of another accusing that someone of copying is high.

Then again, probably 80-90% of everybody who wrote a Zn T crossover may have read Hills.

Oh please, this is the sub-genre that builds itself on imitation of imitation more than others, with exception of peggy sue fics. As of now, ideas like that will be praised as "orignality".

The only MSG games I've played at all are Snake Eater and Peace Walker, so the canon/such was kinda irrelevant.

I just wanted goddamn psycho!Raiden, and was disappointed.

The problem is with ZNTC is that 99% of writers don't think beyond their new (almost always badass) characters getting summoned, optinally culture-shocked, place Louise in her place, and kick Guiche's ass.

Actually, I recall that The Infamous Man (best known for Fate/Zero Sense) wrote a fic where Louise summoned Casshern. From the first half of the series, back when attacking him automatically triggered a murderous Unstoppable Rage, causing him to slaughter everything in sight.

And yes, this happened with the Guiche fight.

Was shaping up to be a pretty good and in-depth AU, but never got past the first chapter.

Hmm... Maybe so, Roy.

Wow, Eva. I feel sorry for you; not enjoying the entirety of the MGS Saga XD

You mean Jack the Ripper!Raiden cutting loose, eh? *badumtish*

As fun as seeing Raiden going RIP AND TEAR, the only moment I think would be appropriate for Ripper!Raiden's debut is with that anime only guy that forced Siesta to work for him. And the moment Louise's fiance turning out to be a bad guy.

RIP AND TEAR is never, ever misplaced. Ever.

Here's the fic I mentioned in the above post. Bear in mind it's in the "Casshan Robot Hunter" category, but is actually based on the 2009 (I think) version, Casshern Sins.

You know, most fics that stars an old-school series character, like Casshern, or Mazinger Z, for example... They are ALWAYS the reboot/remake version.

Yes, I get that the new version introduced us all to this legendary character, but apparently not enough for a fic starring their original incarnation to exist/easy to find.

Speaking of Casshern... Let's see him and Friender fight/team up with Rising!Raiden and Blade Wolf cool

In the case of Mazinger Z and Getter Robo, I've read the original manga for them, but not seen any of their anime yet (have Getter Robo Armageddon on my 'to watch' list, tho').

Big fan of Tekkaman Blade, no real enthusiasm to go looking for the original Tekkaman. But hell, I can do a quick look for the hell of it.

Speaking of the Mazinger and Getter manga, Shin Mazinger Z and New Getter Robo have some scenes based on the events of their respective manga. Just sayin'.

Must've made ya REAL happy when you saw T-Blade in Tatsunoko vs Capcom, huh? XD

This makes me wonder; are there any Zn T crossovers where the one being summoned is not a biological lifeform. As in, robots. No, none of those formerly human/animal/ET ones, genuine automatons. Like the Terminator.

"Zero's Brave Familiar" has a cyborg with additional Powered Armor, but I'm sure that's not what you're talking about.

quasi-relevant:

Seeing that vid, and how the original Japanese opening is...

I like both! Seems like a running gag where dubbed animes ALWAYS have an instrumental opening, but one's badass while the other's upbeat. Again, I like them both.

Brave Familiar... Is it Guy Shishioh, aka the King of Braves? Cause he's the one that come to mind. I can imagine him unleashing Hell and Heaven on the invading army XD

But as you said, that's not what I'm talking about. Are there even any non-biological familiars in Zn T canon?

Actually, it's an Author Avatar/Self-Insert who has a Powered Armor form of Gao Gai Gar, and The Rival working for Reconquista is his near-Complete Monster Evil Counterpart with Gao Figh Gar Powered Armor and Obsidion Hammer.

The fic is surprisingly awesome, and avoids most of the pitfalls you'd expect it too.

dubbed animes always have an instrumental op
Really? Tekkaman Blade/Teknoman's the only case of that I'm aware of. Sailor Moon's dub had the same tune as the original, just different lyrics.

But yeah, the Teknoman theme and "REASON" are both suitably epic.

To answer your question, though... not that I'm aware of, unless somebody has an iron golem or something. I did once contemplate Louise summoning either Optimus Prime or Starscream, though.

...Holy crap.

Well, I know that SOME anime have non-instrumental, but alternate openings. But most of the time, they're instrumentals :p

Oh My God. How the fuck I could have forgotten about Transformers!? I read a fic where Loise summoned Grimlock on FF years ago. Twas fun, but I'm not sure if it's continued or not.

Throw out some examples of instrumental themed anime?

Also, found a badass extended theme of the Teknoman op.

Anyhow, I would've used the Optimus from Transformers Cybertron, or if Starscream, the one from Transformers Animated.

Deltora Quest. Here's the Japanese one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFZ2uxWOt-w

English version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hidb748kV28

Which reminds me, remember the 90s X-Men cartoons? It's the other way around this time, here's the Japanese opening

Me, I would use the Fall of Cybertron Grimlock.

And it went for 61+ episodes?! Holy hell.

Proposal: Louise summons Lief.

I take it yer a fan of the books?

Hell, I never knew both anime and novels existed until Toonami officially aired in Indonesia for the first time; and that was maybe in January!
