That's usually the thing with older movies. Nowadays, movies are much more fast-paced and this can lead to boredom when watching older movies.
Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down.I loved Tron Legacy. I hope the next is going to go well.
Truth be told the original TRON is a bit of an eyesore, the colors are garish and the images are very blurry. You can still tell how revolutionary the technology must have been and most of the pure CG stuff looks pretty good, but all of the rotoscoped Tron Lines just clash horribly against the live footage. What made TRON so good was basically the premise and the ambition, at the time a movie with that level of FX work was unheard of and the story dropped you into it's own cyber world.
Tron Legacy was a competent sequel, but it lacked the ambition with the story that the original had. It was mostly a checklist of the things the fans wanted to see. Return to the Grid: check. The Games: check. A modern Lightcycle battle: check. Kevin Flynn: Check.
While Martin Sheen was hysterical as Zuse the whole End of Line Club segment felt too much like the social atmosphere of the real world. Clu was an interesting villain in premise and behavior but he had just basic Take Over the World goals. On the other hand the original TRON was about learning how the world works and figuring a way to beat the system.
Michael Sheen. Martin Sheen was Jed Bartlett.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Damn typo, I knew who I was referring to but it is rather easy to mistake their names.
Yeah apparently a new writer got added on to the film.
It's about time too

I'm on Youtube Reviewing Things Cause I can.Nice! Since Daft Punk won't be making the music for Tron 3 (they don't like to repeat themselves), what possible artists could make music for this one?
Heh, about dang time. Legacy was quite an underrated film imo, basically a neon Speed Racer, so this makes me quite excited.
My only problem with this is that it most likely wont be done in time for Kingdom Hearts III.
With that out of the way: HELL. FUCKING. YES.

The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit!Indeed, but they don't like to repeat themselves or doing sequels. Best to leave the dreams in the backyard.

The thing about Tron is that it managed to have a very distinctive style. There are very successful franchises which didn't manage this, but when you see a Tron uniform, you immediately recognize it and since legacy, those motorcycle thingies are just as easily recognizable. But the story...well, the one in the first movie was done well enough that it could get carried by the visuals (and I don't mind the pacing at all), the one for the second not so much. But if they come up with a good story for the third one, I am all behind it. It is so frustrating to see a world which is so well designed but is never properly utilized.
Anybody know if Olivia Wilde's likely to come back for Tron 3?
I'd recommend TRON: Uprising for the closest thing we have.
Tried it, but I disliked the main character so intensely that I gave up on it. Also didn't like the animation.
Oh you really should go back to it. It's amazing.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Ugh. TRON: Legacy was dumb, and Tron Destiny/Trinity/Whatever looks amazingly dumber. And keep in mind, I'm a major Tron fan and saw it in first release in '82.
I'm not sure how it can look dumb, considering the only thing we know about it is that it will exist.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyDumb in what sense? Was there something about the plot or the consistency of the world that you didn't like?
Yeah, like, what was dumb about it?? Tron Legacy was a fun, entertaining movie.
All I want out of Tron 3 is that it not have the ludicris pacing problems that are seemingly endemic to the franchise. That's it. If the plot can move at a click that's even remotely satisfying, I'll be satisfied.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.
Yeah, Tron Legacy was too photorealistic. If there was ever a film where Uncanny Valley would've been an advantage, this was it. It felt more like a futuristic world than the inside of a computer.
However, there's a lot of stuff I like better about Tron Legacy than Tron—namely, Tron Legacy is a lot less dense on the first viewing. Tron...the first time I watched it I had this constant urge to go to the bathroom or make popcorn or something, anything but sit through the film all the way through. I dunno how to explain it.
