Fairly certain that's the case. But Retro Studios is already the new Rare in my eyes. They did a fantastic job with Donkey Kong Country Returns.
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Hopefully this one will have better AI than the more recent ones, then againsince its being developed by Nintendo as well,...... *shudders*
What Super Circuit was developed by Intelligent Systems (the guys who made Paper Mario) instead of directly, and for what its worth, the AI is a lot nicer
Luminous beings are we, not this crude matterI just hope that Mario Kart 3DS lighten up on the Blue Shell abuse. I mean, seriously, I can't be the only one who had an unnecessarily hard time clearing the Cups in Mario Kart Wii due to being constantly assaulted by them and the other "Last-Ditch Items", right?
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. You are not. It gets even worse when you try to get star rankings on each of the cups, because the AI will absolutely obliterate you at any chance that they get.

You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!*bump* This thread can be separate from the General Mario thread, so I'm bumping this.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Oh man, blue shells... I agree with you guys so much.
No regret shall pass over the threshold!I just hope nintendo has a better designed time trial system. Watching someone win with a 00:00:00'43 is just plain bullshit. Also the online hacking while entertaining made it pointless to play online.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans. This was said in the general Mario thread, but for those who haven't read it, I'll enlighten you on what we talked about:
- Lakitu is playable!
- Metal Mario is playable!
- Waluigi Pinball is back!
- Winged Blue Shells are out! Grounded Blue Shells are in! And The Fandom Rejoiced!
I dont know about you but I loved the hackers in that game.
But then again, I love (most) of the hackers I have ever encountered in online games simply because they do random stuff that you arent able to do, and sometimes its so ridiculous I cant help but laugh my ass off.
Also... Its only a nerf from the first place point of view. IMO, the fact than it can potentially hit other players that arent just the first one its a plus, if anything.

"That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death itself may die."Also, I got reminded of something. Retro Studios work with Mario Kart 7 reminds me of Rare's work with Mario Kart 64 in that they provided the developers with something regarding the Donkey Kong series! That's actually kind of cool!

Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!That's all well and good, but the coin thing is a huge turnoff. Ah well, I'll still get it if some awesome stages are revealed. The ones I've seen in trailers look horribly generic.
Why exactly is it a turn-off?
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Coins are something of a Scrappy Mechanic in the Mario Kart series.
I'm pretty sold on this. And we haven't seen the whole tracks yet. We've only seen part of them. And I'm impressed with the driving underwater and kite part.
Say, if there were retro tracks that had water pits, you think they'll get an extra section? Or do you think they'll leave tracks like that out?
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!I have no idea, though I'm hoping that they'll use them creatively.
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!I have achieved the three-star rank back then! One H-E-Double Hockey Sticks of a hassle and so much rage, but worth it! For Mario Kart 7, I want Waluigi Pinball and Koopa Beach.
Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheDsMan1Waluigi Pinball has already been confirmed!
Also, N64 Kalimari Desert will also be returning in this game. This makes the confirmed list of retro courses so far:
- N64 Kalimari Desert
- NDS Luigi's Mansion
- NDS Waluigi Pinball
- NDS DK Pass
- NDS Airship Fortress
- Wii Maple Treeway
It's probably safe to say that there won't be any more DS courses!

Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Rainbow Road is going to be so much fun with these gliders.
Unless they somehow make it the unholy combination of no rails (Super Mario Kart), Chain Chomps (64), and boost panels leading into jump panels that send you careening off of the track at Mach 2 (Super Circuit), and then decide to ramp the hellishness of that Up To Eleven.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadThat would actually be kind of fun!
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!IMO, I thought Rainbow Road tracks should be even more Nintendo Hard.
I've never played Super or Super Circuit. What's wrong with coins?
As long as they add Wario Colosseum from Double Dash I'll be happy.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Collecting ten of them increases your top speed, but you lose coins upon colliding with other karts or being attacked by items causes you to lose 'em. If you have zero coins, any kind of collision, regardless of weight class, will cause you to spin out. Also, Super Circuit had this really annoying unlock quest where you had to carry a total of 100 coins over 4 tracks to unlock a cup from Super Mario Kart. Some people like coins, others (such as yours truly) don't. The only way I'd justify putting coins in would be if they had some kind of auxiliary effect for picking them up besides a minor speed boost (for example, if they functioned like Wumpa Fruit in the Crash racing games).
