A Game of Gods: Infinities

"Well, Dopants are superpowered monsters representing a basic theme. For example, there could be a monster being made of nothing but magma or a giant T-Rex. There are other kinds of Dopants, but those are the basic kinds." Shotaro said.

"Oh, yeah, they are called Memories. It's a little weird, but the most basic explanation is that these things contain a memory of the earth. Inside these is what the earth remembers of that theme. For example, the Joker Memory could be derived off the Wild Card. I'm quite the trump card in most cases." Shotaro said.

Lux was getting very very confused. There was a lot going on, and it seemed that the tendencies from last time to spontaneously erupt into fighting was still in effect. Then the whole world changed, again, into bright searing gold. Lux altered a band in front of her face into a neutral filter, adding to her appearance a strange floating band of what seemed to be sunglasses lens material.

She looked around, trying to get her bearings. Both of the largest members of the groups, the two robots, both were moving towards one of the other groups that had split off. Her attention thus drawn there, she spotted Tobias amongst them. If he was going to travel with her, Saren, and Rey, she'd like to get to know him a bit better.

She moved over to the group, just behind Xigbar, and caught enough of Tobias' explanation of his transformation to perk her curiosity. Mere touch could teach him all he needed to know to turn himself into that entity? Fascinating. He could be a very useful member of the group, specially since he's shown himself to be willing to actually do things. She didn't doubt that everyone would eventually get into gear- at least two quite possibly literally- since last time everyone came around. Some, like Rey, took a lot longer than others was all. But Tobias was willing to get around when there wasn't even anything obvious.

There was another person she wanted to learn about, the fellow with the reddish outfit and white hair. He seemed to have some thing with swords but she wasn't quite sure what; she'd ask him later.

"Tobias, you said you wouldn't mind scouting? I think we were just going to get started."

"Sounds nice..." said Roadbuster to the pony, looking her over. "And sickeningly adorable, if you're anything to go by."

— Somewhere off in the wilderness, away from the shrine, a figure in black watched the assembled Challengers with sunken eyes dark as the depths of interstellar space. Its form rippled every few seconds, bone-white skin and all, as if it were a single piece of costume. Distorted words in multiple voices were muttered, one roughly sounding like "confirmed". The sound of a service revolver clicking came from it, and then the entity dissolved into the shadows, like a bolt of cloth falling off a table... —

—Saren's voice came over the comms.—

1. What, exactly, are we waiting for?#

He was feeding. Not for any intrinsic need to sustain himself, for his new body was powerful and beyond the cruel confines of entropy, but simply because he could- to relish the taste and sensation of pure and undiluted energy rippling through his body, sending every part of his being into delirious joy as he snuffed out one surge, then another, then another. The mishaps of his impromptu prisoners provided him with food, and sustenance, and for a time he enjoyed it. Of course, after several such surges, he grew bored, and his mind began to wander, and for a while he observed the group, talking, relating, and bickering with one another. His memory was foggy, blurred with insanity and pain, but he remembered how he had wound up in the Deeps- was it not he interference of a group of misfits like this on? This time, he realized, this time they would not be so fortunate. If he could not attack them directly, then he would have to find newer, more inventive ways to kill them. And, as he began to think, he realized a most suitable and ironic way to kill his prisoners...

In the very center of the shrine, a portal, large and imposing, the color of ebony, flared to life, a subsonic burst of energy rippling through the landscape as they appeared. This portal was not like the calm and peaceful ones that the returning Challengers would remember- for this one had the strength and suction force of a small black hole. Indeed, their immense gravitational pull had already seized some of the smaller chunks of gold and gravel and dragged them in, to who knew where. An ominous wind blew across

“Slag!” exclaimed Roadbuster as the portals appeared, flattening himself to the ground and grabbing the largest chunks of rock he could find- but the struggle was in vain and, cursing a blue streak, the Autobot was dragged into one of portals, his metallic body appearing to stretch as he disappeared past sight and sound into nothingness...

Hellboy grabbed desperately at the ground with the Right Hand of Doom.

"Aw, CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"

His efforts were in vain, and he was sucked bodily into the portal.

The Doctor's eyebrows raise. "Mehir, everyone. BRACE YOURSELF."

The Doctor is dragged into the portal.

"WAAAAAAAAH!!" Shotaro said, being sucked into the portal.

-Donkey Kong makes a spirited attempt to resist the portal, spinning himself like a tornado to move in the opposite direction, but even this fails and he disappears as well.-

Xigbar immediately attempted to grab Masha's hand as the forceful pull of the portal above their group, pulling her into his body, that of which his back facing the powerful black hole. By Kingdom Hearts! This is getting ridiculous! He thought as the two were pulled through, their destination unknown.

Masha was unable to do much of anything. She was dragged in with Xigbar before she could even cry out in fear.

"We shall resume this duel later," said Scorpion. "Someone's asking us both for a challenge."

Scorpion dove into the portal.

"Memories of the Earth......" Fluttershy whispered in awe as Shotaro explained. Before she could ask about if there were any sort of pony memory, but then the portal appeared and started sucking everyone into it.

Fluttershy immediately felt the immense force pulling her in. She took to the air and flapped her wings as hard and fast as she could, but it felt like something grabbing onto her, trying to pull her into its mouth with little effort, using allowing to give the pegasus some slack just to taunt her out of sadistic pleasure.

Seeing all the others being pulled in, she was becoming very scared right now.....

Suddenly a chunk of gold flew up and hit her in the head, sending a jolt of pain in her brain and distracting her long enough for the void to suck in completely. She cried tears of pain and fear.....she screamed in terror......

—From within the compartments of his armour, Saren fired two grappling lines, one to Luxanna, one to Rey, all while he dug his heels in.—

1. We will NOT be separated, do you hear me, apes?#

As the portal opened up, Sly attempted to hook himself onto a bulding with his cane, but to no avail. He was pulled into the yawning depths of the portal, just as the others were.

Teridax quickly sank his Warghammer deep into the sand, even now; the portal was pulling him in.

So....when did..gaahh

A piece of rock smacked him on the face.

looks like whatever caused that Does want guests over for tea.

Teriadx began to slowly slide towards the portal, his Warhammer making a deep trail in the sand.

Archer braced himself and quickly projected Link's Gilded Sword again. He stabbed the blade into the ground and held on, preventing himself from being sucked in for the moment.

Jak was shocked when he saw the massive Roadbuster get sucked into something that vaguely resembled the Time Gate that had first brought him and his friends to Haven City. However, this portal was pulling him towards it incredibly quickly. He only had time to say two words before he was sucked in.

"HOLY SH*T!"

Daxter had already disappeared into the portal, screaming his head off as he did so.

Rey yelped, but caught hold of the line from Saren, at the same time, reaching into the carrier on his hip, whipping out the crowbar and swinging it down, embedding the hooked end into the ground as much as he could and hanging on as tightly as possible, doing his best to help anchor them down.

Cletus had dug in with his sledgehammer, only to be sucked in as well.

Business was slow. While normally, the shop was bustling at this point, there was a complete and utter dearth of any customers. This... this was scary. Normally, the young girl who owned the shop was filled with utter cheer, enjoying pretty much everything she was doing. But today, the sheer lack of customers and the thought of what will happen if she doesn't get enough money to pay off her debt was scaring her. She still needed more by the end of the week, what if she didn't get it?

Recette leaned against the counter, and took a deep breath. She shouldn't be thinking about that! She should be cheerful as ever, awaiting any customers with a friendly smile, because she needed them, and this was fun!

This was-... What was that noise?

Masha appeared suddenly, on the floor of some kind of building, lying on her stomach. There were several other champions with her, though she only really heard them land, as opposed to actually seeing the. With a brief sound of dsicomfort, she drew herself up into a sitting postion. Where were they? What happened?

Masha looked around. The building they were in wasn't overly large, but it was big enough to contain all of them. It was made mostly out of wood and stone, and there was some kind of counter on the wall across from them. Behind the counter, there were shelves. The shelves held a wide variety of things. There was books, cups, various kinds of food(Masha recognized taiyaki as one of the foods displayed), and a plethora of other items, many of which Masha was entirely unfamiliar with.

Oh, and there was a girl. The girl didn't appear to be much(physically) older then Masha, at most she was thirteen. She had short, brown hair with two round, berry-like decorations in it, and large brown eyes. The girl hadl ight skin, and she wore a yellow shirt, with a green tie, and what appeared to be some kind of green tank top over the shirt. Over this was some kind of red... thing that sort of flared out like a skirt, but there's a skirt under it, so... you know what, enough describing what she looks like, here's how she reacted.

The girl was completely stunned.

"Uh... who... how did you... where did you... who are you all?"

The Doctor gets himself up. "Ello. I'm the Doctor. And who are you?"

The portal shot Shotaro, still in his Kamen Rider form, right into the shop's window. He entered, crashing through the window. Shards of glass flew as Shotaro landed on a shelf. "Ow..." Shotaro said.

Sly drew himself to his feet, his cane clicking against the floor. He looked at the girl. "Sorry to startle you like that. Would you mind telling us where we are?"

The girl looked seriously confused, even more so when a fully armored man smashed through her window.

"Um... where did you come from...?"

She looked up at the cieling, expecting to see some kind of source of these people. There was none. She looked back down... and decided to start answering their questions. People falling from her cieling probably were pretty confused about where they were, after all.

"I'm Recette Lemongrass," Recette introduced herself. "And... uh... Welcome to Recettear!"

Masha stared at all of the proceedings blankly.

She couldn't understand what the slightly older girl was saying.
