aaaand is there a way to make sure i fight it lives! instead of moms heart?

Kill the heart around 10 times, then It Lives will show up on your next run.

Instructions unclear. Got splinters in my feet from the trapdoor and my dick stuck in a chest with gold linings.

Protip: To defeat the Hush, shoot at it until it dies.

It may take a few hours.

There has to be some trick to the hush, occasionally I kill him extremely quickly with a pretty low damage run and sometimes it takes forever with a high damage run.

but wait, ive beaten it lives! before, but i thought you unlocked blue baby by beating moms heart 10 times, which i assumed i hadnt done because i didnt have blue baby...

I've found that Mom's Knife works pretty great on it. The damage is applied for every moment it's in contact with him and since Hush is a big target, it just goes down noticeably faster than if you were just shooting tears at it.

Plus, it scales accordingly with your damage output. Since, apparently, Mom's Knife doesn't up your damage stat like Brimstone or Ipecac, it becomes that much easier with a "low" damage run since you're already murdering most things in one swing.

I guess it just goes down faster if it has less hp.

It Lives will always replace Mom's Heart after you unlock it. If you're still fighting Mom's Heart, you haven't unlocked It Lives.

This thing?◊ That is It Lives.

weird. im certain thats what i fought, but i only just unlocked blue baby just now, so its still locked...

Yep, checked in the wiki and it says blue baby is ten kills and It Lives is eleven kills. So probably a bug.

I think the game is trying to tell me "You really need to unlock more runes, dude". I only have Ansuz unlocked, and thanks to a Bag of Runes and random drops, I was able to use it 14 times in a single play trough. And I didn't even make it to Mom.

Alright, alright, I'll go and play more challenges then! You don't need to be so passive-agressive about it, Afterbirth!

It's more fun to only unlock Rune of Jera.

Nah, just get Ehwaz and skip the entire game.

The last items I have are the Mega Blaster and Tear Detonator.

if you cleared all the post it notes how do you not have the first one? And you don't visit shops much for the second one?

Playing the BASEMENT seed for about an hour, had tons of items. My items got rerolled by a dice room and I don't know what I got, but my attack clears rooms, even bosses, in under a second. I fire once, the screen is filled with Tech lasers. Then, around a quarter of the room gets exploded somehow. Then, I apparently have cluster sad bombs because a couple dozen mini bombs go off around a second later, which also fire more tech lasers just in case.

Oh, and the explosions leave behind fires from hot bombs. Plus I have that angel room item that absorbs the first damage you take in each room, so i'm not even killing myself with this.

That looks like techx+dr fetus+cluster sad bombs+I think either the mutation that gives you more shots, quad shot, or both.

Oh yes, I did have Conjoined.

There's no way I'm ever going to legitimately get 100% or whatever the hell you're supposed to get in Rebirth. Full completion in the original game will be enough for me, and when I play through the rest of Rebirth it will just be for the mundane average completion.

Oh, I've UNLOCKED it. I just haven't FOUND it and picked it up yet. Which you need to do to get 1001%

As for the latter, It's because every time I go to the shops, I don't bother getting Tear Detonator because I either dont have the cash or have a better spacebare item

Wait... Is 1001% legitimately a real thing?
