Troper Elections

So we're going to elect some officers for the FG (Forum Games) Cabinet!

Voting has started as of 7/5/11. Anyone can come in and vote or campaign for someone and debate.

Vote one candidate maximum per role, and one role maximum per candidate. Use for actual votes.

You may vote for an unlisted nominee as a write-in and I will add the nominee after confirmation. Also, you may change your votes, but make a new post when you do.

Cabinet roles:

• President: Leader of the FG Cabinet. Manages ideas for new threads and how to handle current threads in FG.
• Vice President: Assistant to the president. Advises the president, and fills in for other roles in case of any vacancy.
• Secretary: Manager of currently existing FG topics. Keeps track of active and past threads and their rules.
• Speaker: Manager of tropers using the FG section. In charge of sponsoring and encouraging activity, and assisting on participation.
• Treasurer: Manager of site resources, including tropes, gallery avatars, uploaded images, etc. Informs and provides resources on tropes as well as off-site sources used in FG topics.

Additional notes:

• All roles are ceremonial and you are not forced to carry out the Cabinet roles or follow orders from Cabinet members. But you are welcome to use the thread for FG ideas and make use of those suggestions.
• Remember that this thread is itself an FG topic, so treat it like one. Have fun campaigning and debating!

Well, what did you expect when you posted this in the FG forum?

That people would be creative with their sponsorship and campaigns? It's ITT style, and has an element of sign-ups like in some other games, but ceremonial.

If you want you can make a thread in Covens. But it's really supposed to be centered around FG.

No, I haven't been there yet... and I see a system, but I'm still confused with it. Example please?

In the meantime, I think I'll have to say that you can nominate for a new role when there's a good reason to add the role. Otherwise it's either one of the roles I set up or "at-large".

And if people posted above don't clarify the roles, I will nominate them at large.

Phoenix, come on! It's all about IMAGE Phoenix, IMAGE! We can't have doubling back over your promises of hostile takeovers of the greatest minds in this race, you look like you're doubting your own beliefs! You need to SELL your beliefs as if everyone agrees and if you SELL them well enough, the people will start to agree!

Cata, if they're hostile takeovers, then I'm doing it entirely wrong. It's all about subtlety.

You sneakily steal minds, and the people will hate you. You make stealing minds an electon promise, and keep it, then you paint the picture of being an honest politician! People LOVE those, even though we all know it's an illusion!

I will have the elections process set up tentatively as follows:

• Official voting begins at 12:00AM midnight of 7/5, Pacific Time (about 2 1/2 hours from now). It's 9:25PM when I post this.
• Everyone who got nominated for something so far will be included as "at-large" nominee (specific role undecided). People who are nominated for specific roles that I listed (me included) will be nominated for that specific role.
• When voting starts, I will send a PM to each of the potential nominees in case they have some reason to reject their nominations. If get a response specifically rejecting the nomination I will remove it.

Voting Procedures:

• Each troper gets one vote per role, and you have to vote a different person for each role. You may vote for yourself, but remember, one role only.
• When you vote, clearly state which candidate gets vote for what role. Mark it with to distinguish the actual vote from whatever campaigning or supporting you include (with which you should be creative).
• I will probably allow write-in votes unless it gets out of control, but make sure you ask the troper if you're not nominating yourself.
• You may edit your voting choices, but make a new post when you do. Newer post will supersede the old.
• These guidelines are subject to change at my discretion.
