I checked out the series' Fimfic group...
That acronym depresses me.

Hence, "The Burned Fic".

Halper's Law: as the length of an online discussion of minority groups increases, the probability of "SJW" or variations being used = 1.@Pannic: I keep hoping you'll go back to Romance Reports at some point. IIRC you left off just before chapter 10 when they start to deconstruct what you felt were some of the more distasteful parts. (Nothing to be done about pacing/prose, though.)
For those who are sane and didn't click the link, there are five "canon" stories, none of them finished.
1. Twilight Sparkle's POV as invasion happens.
2. Princess Cadance's POV before invasion stuffs.
3. Twilight's mom is knocked up by Diamond Dogs or something I dunno fuck you I didn't actually read it I have limits.
4. Big Macintosh is the one stallion in Equestria who isn't magically turned into a rapist and it's about him running the farm with Applejack.
5. Something with OCs.
Oh... Romance Reports. Never did finish that. My understanding of what does transpire is that while it may go "Twilight going on a series of one-night stands isn't actually a good thing," it also makes it so that what she does to Braeburn doesn't have actual consequences, and it doesn't look like its groan-inducing handling of the characters gets better, either.

Fanfiction I hate.I stand by my previous assessment of Fall of Equestria; plot holes, bland prose, and OOC behavior wrapped in a thick layer of Author Appeal. In other words, the same thing as most other porn, just with a bunch of fanart to trick people into thinking its better than it is.
"The only way to truly waste an idea is to shove it where it doesn't belong."oh god damnit that fracking series.
If there was one verse and all associated material I could have deleted from the fandom, that would be it. It's worse than Your Human and You, The Conversion Bureau, and all of those "cosplayer in equestria" fics combined.
XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!I disagree with the "plot holes" point. A plot hole is when the story has a fundamental contradiction in its internal logic.
There isn't enough internal logic in these things for there to be a contradiction. It's like plot-almost-made-a-sweater-but-gave-up.
Wow, that simile was terrible.

Fanfiction I hate.Well "OOC Behavior" implies that there was an attempt at characterization for them to be out of, but it doesn't have that either. I elected to use prepackaged terms instead of spending more mental effort on that garbage

"The only way to truly waste an idea is to shove it where it doesn't belong."F-o-E is something that actually makes me sad by its existence.
So, anyway. Chapter 33 of Book of Friendship. It's a little shorter, under 7k words, might expand in certain places. I'm a bit concern that the emphasis on Princess's POV kinda drops off near the end 'cause it becomes more about White and Aq. That's kind of understandable. I just want to make sure I give a good picture of Princess beyond "Well, that's certainly vapid."
Kegisak pitched me a line idea, which I stole ("Not gonna talk? Then don't talk."). If the end of the chapter has some kind of an impact on the reader, then that'd be a big relief.

Fanfiction I hate.I got used like that by a real-life equivalent of Cleo from Clone High. Our mutual friend was shocked that I fell in love so quickly and that I was so hurt by her leaving. According to her, usually there aren't any consequences, the guys take it for what it is and then let go. The likes of me and Braeburn are anomalies. In fact, our inherent intensity is a turnoff.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Not to derail the thread further, but good grief blaming the victim for wanting something meaningful.
Apparently the likes of us become popular at the Single Woman Seeks Good Man stage, which is to say starting around our middle thirties.
Maybe that's material for a fic. But it hits a bit too close to home. I don't think I can write a story like that.
I'm catching up on Project Horizons. That fic is good. My poor little attempts at writing are awed at the sheer amount of skill the author displays. How the information flows naturally. How the scenes and moments are structured. How the characters "are themselves". How the drama hits. It's all incredibly immersive. Although the Narrative Filigree and, in particular, the long, elaborate fight sequences can get too much at times.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I rarely downvote stories unless they're really terrible, and given that I generally don't read stories that I don't think I'd enjoy to begin with, it doesn't come up much. The only story I've ever downvoted without actually reading it was that one where the description made it clear that Shining Armor was sexually abusing Twilight, because fuck no.

Reaction Image RepositoryAnd this is how it becomes blatant which era this story was written in. Had this been written before World War I, people would have laughed at the insanity. We've really redefined what it means to be brave and to be a coward, what it means to have honour and to do the right thing. I think it's for the best, really. But who knows what future generations might think of us.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I sure hope the modern definition sticks around. Though I'm worried because everyone on the news can't seem to stop beating the war drum.
This was... beautiful o_o,
And this is why I have a hard time imagining the Pony-Zebra war happening at all, let alone Celestia stepping down halfway.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Also, chapter 2 had Princess Luna and the "Congratulations on a job well done masturbating" letter. I doubt the story can retroactively make that not stupid.
Fanfiction I hate.As is in story, no, after a decade of tension, maybe.
Also, does make sense, and, if you count Days of Wasp and Spider as a prequel to not just FIM, but to the FOE verse of FIM. It makes a LOT more sense, it just, fits together so well.
I don't understand what your concern is. Could you rephrase it?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Twilight does something bad. Rather than have a consequence she has to live with and own up to, the problem resolves itself.
I guess that's not as much of a problem if she does, in fact, learn something from it. But nine chapters in and the story has literally nothing I like.

Fanfiction I hate.Yeah, that's what Real Life careless people count on. The Great Gatsby used that to great effect. It's realistic, but makes for anticlimactic storytelling.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Oh, I'm gonna do it on my blog. Along with the next PH chapter.
Man, I'm so behind.
Fanfiction I hate.
