Most Underrated video game characters.

Who is a video game character that you think is underrated and you don't get why people hate? I think Stryker from the Mortal Kombat series is a pretty cool but underrated character. I don't get why some people hate him. I think he's a pretty cool character and the concept of Stryker is nice. I was surprised to hear that he has quite a Hatedom. I hear Stryker has somewhat of a fanbase though. I actually liked Stryker alot in MK3

Anybody from this series. Not the best games, but the characters are hilarious.

Stryker was hated pre-MK 9, now he's been Rescued from the Scrappy Heap

While he's not hated, I think Sean from Street Fighter is horribly underrated by his own creators, who seem to want to nothing more than to make him a joke character who fails at everything. He got nerfed hard in 3rd Strike too.

The main character of Robotrek and his robots.

Though it's more people not knowing about or caring about these games than hate.

Xion...why does the fandom hate her so much? I liked her as a character...story wise.

Gameplay wise? She's just a Roxas clone. Yet people consider her as a Scrappy character for some reason.

My conclusion is that her Hate Dom just doesn't understand her.

For hate...Ryu 5. I get why Ryu 5 and everything to do with his game is hated. I really do. I love him dearly though.

Regulus from the N64 Bomberman games. Though I don't know if he counts too much since he's loved by the very small fandom the series has, but seriously, Screw characters like Shadow The Hedgehog! This guy's a 100% bonafide badass. And he doesn't need to angst or hold a gun to be one.

Captain Syrup. Full stop. The mario series' first capable female villain character, who is a Pirate Girl with a crew of goomba expies and a genie at that. Add a few shades of Classy Cat-Burglar and you have someone far more deserving of a place in Mario Kart or Mario Party than some of the dinguses that have weaseled in.

Pretty much the only character who benefitted from a completely inexperienced child actor.

Also Rief, as my avatar might imply. I don't care that Karis has a more easily accessible healing Psynergy, because his is still better late-game.

There's a number of characters I like, such as Squall that I feel get a lot of undeserved hate...but I also generally try to read why people don't like them, since they're usually pretty vocal once you cut past, say, the Spoony fanboys. I may not agree with their thought process, but I usually know why a character can rub someone the wrong way.

I'll go out on a limb and add Fenris from Dragon Age 2. Though now I'm picking up a trend in characters I like that other people don't.

I think the Xion hate is partially the Het Is Ew crowd flipping out at the mere idea of another woman in Orgy XIII.

The other is that she's rather superfluous to the storyline...though in a lot of ways, her entire game could be considered that way.

I didn't play the game, so I can't comment personally, just figured I'd note that those are the issues I here when she's brought up. I usually don't run in the KH communities, so there's less character bashing in the places I do talk RP Gs.

Sarah is the most badass videogame character in existence.

Anybody remember Brian? Yeah, the list is small, isn't it? ...Probably because he was pretty flat, but still.(but slightly better in the remake)

Who can namedrop all of the Knights in Shining Force? It's easy to namedrop nearly every other character/class, but the Knights? Hardly. There's just tons of them.

Am I the only person who likes Franco Bash here? Seriously, he has like, one of the best themes in Fatal Fury!

Oh the knights...There were indeed tons of them. The one I remember best is Arthur. My family likes to make fun of him for "sucking" (I can't remember his growths). Yet we always use him. We call him Arturo the Great.

What makes him most memorable is that he isn't a generic Knight, he has magic. Which explains his growth being not nearly as good. He's my favorite too. I still liked the other ones, mind you, but their own difference was growths. In the remake, it was a little better, since every character had their own story.

He used magic? God damn it's been a while since I've played it hasn't it...

He's most memorable to me for being a family injoke...
